HUGE NEWS FROM THE FBI

A Toledo man was sentenced to five years in prison, the final defendant sent to prison

for their roles in a conspiracy to provide thousands of dollars to Anwar Al-Alwaki in

an effort to support violent jihad against U.S. military personnel in Iraq, Afghanistan

and throughout the world.

Ibrahim Zubar Mohammad, 39, was sentenced to five years in prison on Friday, and will

be deported upon completion of the sentence.

He previously pleaded guilty to concealing the financing of terrorism.

Sultane Room Salim, 43, was sentenced to five years in prison earlier this week.

He previously pleaded guilty to concealing the financing of terrorism

Yahya Farooq Mohammad, 40, is currently serving a sentence of more than 27 years in prison.

He previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists

and to soliciting the murder of a United States District Judge.

Asif Ahmed Salim, 38, is serving six years in prison.

He previously pleaded guilty to concealing the financing of terrorism.

"These defendants sent thousands of dollars abroad to support al Qaeda and attacks on

Americans," U.S. Attorney Justin E. Herdman said.

"This case demonstrates that we will aggressively pursue leads and evidence around the world

to bring to justice those who would strike at our nation and the ideals we hold dear."

"We are pleased these individuals will spend significant time behind bars for providing

funds to a known terrorist who called for violent jihad," said Robert Hughes, Acting

Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Cleveland office.

"The FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force will continue all collaborative and investigative

efforts to root out individuals who provide material support to terrorists and their organizations."

Farooq Mohammad was an Indian citizen who was an engineering student at Ohio State University

between 2002 and 2004.

He married a U.S. citizen around March 2008.

His brother, Ibrahim Mohammad, was also an Indian citizen who studied engineering at

the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2001 through 2005.

In or around 2006, he moved to Toledo, Ohio, and married a U.S. citizen.

He became a lawful permanent resident of the United States in or around 2007.

Asif Salim was a U.S. citizen who studied at Ohio State University between 2000 and

2005.

He became a resident of Overland Park, Kansas, in 2007.

His brother, Sultane Salim, is also a U.S. citizen who resided in the Chicago area from

2006 through 2012, until he moved to the Columbus area.

The four defendants conspired to provide money, equipment and other assistance to Anwar Al-Awlaki.

Al-Awlaki, a key leader of Al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, was designated a global

terrorist in 2010.

The defendants' support was to be used in furtherance of violent jihad against the U.S.

and U.S. military in Iraq, Afghanistan and throughout the world, according to court documents.

The defendants made various financial transactions in 2008 and 2009, and communicated about raising

funds for a trip to the Middle East.

Farooq Mohammad and Ibrahim Mohammad obtained money by opening credit cards and withdrawing

money with no intention of repaying the amounts obtained from the financial institutions,

according to court documents.

On July 22, 2009, Farooq Mohammad traveled with two other people to Yemen to meet Awlaki.

They were unable to meet with Awlaki, so instead travelled to Sana'a, Yemen, to meet with

one of his associates.

Farooq Mohammad and his two fellow travelers gave the associate approximately $22,000 to

be given to Awlaki, according to court documents.

In addition to pleading guilty to conspiring to provide and conceal material support to

terrorists, Yahya Farooq Mohammad also admitted to soliciting an undercover FBI employee (UCE),

posing as a "hitman," to kidnap and murder U.S. District Judge Jack Zouhary.

In or about April 2016 – after he was arrested on the terrorism charge and while the case

was pending and assigned to Judge Zouhary – Mohammad told another inmate in the Lucas

County Corrections Center in Toledo, Ohio that he wanted Zouhary kidnapped and murdered

and that he was willing to pay $15,000 to have this carried out.

The inmate provided Mohammad with the contact information for the UCE and stated that the

UCE would need a $1,000 down payment before the murder could occur.

The inmate also provided Mohammad with an agreed upon code to use when discussing the

planned murder over the jail telephone.

On or about April 26, 2016, Mohammad called the UCE from the Lucas County Corrections

Center.

Using the agreed-upon code, Mohammad told the UCE he wanted to have Judge Zouhary killed.

Mohammad agreed to provide the $1,000 down payment.

When asked when he wanted the murder committed, Mohammad stated, "The sooner would be good,

you know."

Over the ensuing days, Mohammad arranged to have a family member provide the $1,000 in

cash to the UCE.

On May 5, 2016, that family member met with the UCE and provided the UCE with $1,000 in

cash.

Mohammad later informed the inmate that the rest of the money for the murder was coming,

according

to court documents.

Ahead of MBS visit, China seeks deeper trust with Iran China News Al Jazeera

Iranian FM Zarif and Chinese counterpart meet in Beijing amid efforts to preserve 2015 nuclear deal.

wants to deepen "strategic trust" with , the Chinese governments top diplomat has said, days before Saudi Arabias Crown Princeávisits Beijing, underscoring Beijings difficult Middle East balancing act.

The communist nation has long sought to balance its relations in the between rivals Iran and one of its chief suppliers of crude oil whose de facto leader, Prince Mohammed, is due to visit Beijing later this week for meetings with President and other Chinese officials.

Meeting Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif at a state guest house in Beijing, Chinese State Councillor Wang Yi said on Tuesday he had watched Zarifs Sunday speech at the Munich Security Conference, where he had accused of .

"I saw on television how you defended the rights of Iran loud and clear at the Munich Security Conference. I think an audience of hundreds of millions of Chinese also watched what you said and you are a famous person now," Wang said, in brief remarks in front of reporters.

"I would like to take this opportunity to have this in depth strategic communication with my old friend to deepen the strategic trust between our two countries and to ensure fresh progress of the bilateral comprehensive and strategic partnership," he said.

China looks forward to Iran playing an even more constructive role in regional affairs, Wang added, according to a Chinese Foreign Ministry statement.

A perception held by many Chinese that the áseeks to contain their nations global rise generates sympathy among the public for Iran and other countries, such as , identified by Washington as hostile powers.

Zarif told the Munich conference that a barter type system known as INSTEX set up last month by France, Germany and Britain to allow businesses to skirt direct financial transactions with Iran, and thereby evade possible US sanctions, fell short of commitments to save the nuclear deal.

He addressed the conference a day after US Vice President Mike Pence prodded Germany, France and Britain to follow Washington in withdrawing from the deal and to "stop undermining US sanctions".

Zarif is in Beijing accompanying a delegation that includes Irans speaker of parliament, Ali Larijani, and Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh. Iran was Chinas fourth largest oil supplier last year.

"Our relationship with China is very valuable to us. We consider the comprehensive strategic partnership between Iran and China as one of our most important relations," Zarif said, also in remarks in front of the media.

Washingtons major European allies opposed last years decision by US President to abandon the Iran nuclear deal, which includes China and Russia, under which international sanctions on Iran were lifted in return for it accepting curbs on its nuclear programme.

Iran is an important source of crude imports to China, which has also invested in manufacturing and other industries in Iran.

At the same time, China has sought to remain a friend to Israel which Iran regards with hostility partly to avail itself of the countrys cutting edge technologies.

Can Iran survive US economic sanctions?

Bayern Munich team news: Predicted 4-3-3 line up to face Liverpool in Champions League - Duration: 2:32.

Bayern Munich head into their clash at Anfield as slight underdogs - such is Liverpool's strength at home

Anfield is set for another memorable European night in this first leg of Liverpool's last-16 clash with Bayern

Bayern have won their last two outings after a brief blip in early February. They have scored three goals in wins over Schalke and Augsburg and are gunning for an aggregate lead in tonight's tie too

Bayern manager Nico Kovac may be without defender Jerome Boateng for the showdown on Merseyside

Franck Ribery is not confirmed in the Bayern squad after becoming a father on Sunday, while Arjen Robben is not in the group that headed to Liverpool

"Franck Ribery will join up with us," Kovac said. "We'll have to wait and see if Jerome Boateng can - if the doctors say he's not an infection risk, then he could yet be an option

" Good news for Bayern Munich is that Kingsley Coman should be ready to play for the German giants after suffering an injury on Friday

"He's improving by the hour. Kingsley [Coman] needs to be completely pain-free," the manager said

"We're optimistic that the medical team will have him in shape by tomorrow night

" Discussing the fixture, Kovac added: "We're playing against an opponent that's the most difficult draw

"If you look at what Liverpool did in the Champions League last season and what Liverpool are doing in the Premier League this season, then you have to say Liverpool is the most difficult draw that there is

"Other draws would have been difficult. "But I maintain that tomorrow and in Munich the form on the day will be decisive

Liverpool news: Injury blow as star misses training ahead of Bayern but duo offer boost - Duration: 2:29.

Liverpool may be forced to take on Bayern Munich without Roberto Firmino after the Brazilian missed training ahead of the Champions League Round of 16 tie

Firmino has been struggling with the effects of a virus and was not seen as the Reds underwent their final preparations at Melwood on Monday

Jurgen Klopp will be hoping his star striker can return in time to face the Bundesliga giants, with Firmino considered a key component of Liverpool's high-intensity playing style

There was also no sign of Dejan Lovren during training as the Croatian continues to remain sidelined with a hamstring problem

Lovren's absence leaves Klopp short of options in central defence with Virgil van Dijk suspended for the Reds' first knockout match

Joe Gomez remains a long-term absentee due to a fractured leg so midfielder Fabinho is most likely to partner Joal Matip at the heart of the Liverpool rearguard

Firmino's replacement is less clear-cut with Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and Xherdan Shaqiri all options depending on Klopp's preferred formation

The latter was an injury concern but has now completed two full training sessions and could start in the No 10 role if Liverpool opt for a 4-2-3-1 set-up

There was further good news as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain continued his return to full fitness after a serious knee injury

The England international was seen taking part in several light drills as he targets a comeback before the end of the campaign

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been named in Liverpool's Champions League squad but is not thought he will be available for selection until the quarter-finals in April – if the Reds progress that far

Bayern head into the match three points behind Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga and undefeated in the Champions League so far, having topped Group E ahead of Ajax, Benfica and AEK Athens

Italian populist party put ministers immunity to online vote News Al Jazeera - Duration: 3:29.

Italian populist party put ministers immunity to online vote News Al Jazeera

Five Star movement asks supporters whether Matteo Salvini should be prosecuted for allegedly kidnapping migrants.

Members of Italys ruling Five Star Movement are voting online on Monday to decide whether to block a possible kidnapping trial against Interior Minister , a coalition ally and leader of the right wing League party.

In line with the partys populist approach of letting members directly vote on important political issues, deputy prime minister and leader of the populist movement, Luigi di Maio, set up a vote on the partys internet platform Rousseau.

The pioneering online system was designed to introduce direct democracy by conducting online primary votes, surveying members on policies, and receiving donations.

The digital vote comes after a request by a group of Sicilian judges for the Senates permission to pursue an investigation of Salvini on alleged abuse of power and kidnapping.

The judges request dates back to Salvinis into Italy, leaving them stranded at sea on board a rescue vessel for five days in August.

The result of the online vote will dictate how the Five Star movements senators will vote on Tuesday in a committee that could block the Sicilian probe.

While Salvini asked the Senate to reject the Sicilian prosecutors request for a trial, the Five Star movement faces an ethical dilemma. On the one hand, the party builds its support on a clean judicial image and has always attacked legislators who used parliamentary privilege to avoid trials.

On the other hand, allowing the investigation and possible trial against Salvini to continue could put the government at risk of collapse, state news agency Ansa reported on Sunday, citing sources within the Five Star Movement.

The query put to party members on the blog reads: "Was the delay in the disembarkation of the Diciotti in order to redistribute the migrants in various European countries done in order to protect the interests of the state?"

A "yes" vote will deny prosecutors authorisation to launch the probe, while a "no" vote will allow them to.

The confusing way the query was posed to voters prompted criticism among the partys opposition as well as its supporters.

Founder of the Five Star Movement Beppe Grillo, who sits on the bench of the party since Luigi di Maio became leader, commented sarcastically on the partys approach.

"If you vote "yes", it means no. If you vote "no" it means yes," said Grillo on Twitter.

Se voti Si vuol dire NoSe voti No vuol dire SiSiamo tra il comma 22 e la sindrome di Procuste!

Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte, Di Maio and the Five Star movements Transport Minister Alessandro Toninelli may be put under investigation alongside Salvini over the migrant issue, Italian newspapers said on Sunday.

Conte wrote in a letter deposited in the Senate that the decision to block the migrants was taken collectively.

On Sunday, speaking to supporters in Sardinia, Salvini brushed off concern about the online ballot: "What I did, I did to defend the safety of citizens and, if necessary, Id do it again," he said.

Man City News - Man City players wrap up in training ahead of Champions League return - Duration: 2:46.

Manchester City's stars were put through their paces on a chilly Tuesday up north as they prepared for their return to European football

The Premier League leaders trained ahead of travelling to Germany to take on Schalke in the last-16 of the Champions League on Wednesday night

Pep Guardiola's side are heavy favourites against a side who are 14th in the Bundesliga, and will hope to take a hefty advantage into the second-leg next month

This week is shaping up to be season-defining for Guardiola as his side continue to fight for silverware on all four fronts

After reaching the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with victory over Newport they play Chelsea in the final of the Carabao Cup on Sunday

But Ilkay Gundogan fears that without European success City will not be remembered as a top team

'If you want to be in the international elite, when you want to be there both as a club and as a player, you need to clinch this trophy,' the German international said

'You can't go past it, at least in my opinion. I think that, if we were to win it someday, the club would enter a new era

'(It would be lifted) to the same level as Real, Barca, Bayern or Juventus, clubs that are maybe a step above us

Maybe not in the way they play football, but as a club at least.'Our job is to try and give it our all to make it a reality someday

We'll try and will hopefully manage that somehow.'We've experienced a lot in the Champions League in recent years - not all of it positive, of course

'We should've won it at least once. So as you can imagine, there's a very big drive within us to do something in the Champions League

The biggest low was probably being knocked out by Liverpool last season.'For that reason, the motivation to go far in this competition is huge and I think we have the quality required

North Carolina House race marred by voter fraud scheme official Trump News Al Jazeera - Duration: 3:45.

North Carolina House race marred by voter fraud scheme official Trump News Al Jazeera

Election board official says absentee ballots were collected and in some cases filled out in favour of Republicans.

An investigation into a disputed 2018  congressional election in North Carolina has uncovered a "coordinated, unlawful and substantially resourced absentee ballot scheme" to influence the votes outcome, a state election board official said on Monday.

The scheme involved collecting absentee ballots in contravention of state laws, and, in some cases, filling out those ballots in favour of Republicans.

Investigators found evidence that a political operative working for Republican candidate Mark Harris collected absentee ballots from voters in the states 9th congressional district, the executive director of the states election board, Kim Strach, said at the start of a hearing that could lead to a new vote.

The scheme affected 1,019 ballot requests in Bladen and Robeson counties during the 2018 election, Strach said.

Harris declared victory in November over Democratic rival Dan McCready after early vote tallies showed him with a 905 vote lead, out of 282,717 ballots cast.

But the US House of Representatives seat has remained vacant as state officials have refused to certify Harriss apparent victory after voters said the Harris campaign team had collected their incomplete absentee ballots.

Republican political operative Leslie McCrae Dowless conducted an absentee ballot operation from April 2017 up to the 2018 elections while working for Red Dome Consulting, a firm hired by the Harris campaign, Strach said.

Lisa Britt, who said she worked for Dowless, testified that she collected unsealed ballots and filled them out in favour of Republicans at Dowlesss home or office.

Britt said Dowless tried to prevent her from testifying at Mondays hearing by asking her to invoke her Fifth Amendment right against self incrimination.

Dowless paid workers dollar 150 for every 50 absentee ballot requests they collected and another dollar 125 for every 50 ballots collected, Strach said.

Investigators found Dowless tried to avoid detection by instructing those who worked for him to deliver ballots to the post office in small batches and to ensure the same colour ink was used for forged witness signatures, Strach said.

State officials have named Dowless as a person of interest in their election fraud probe after voters in Bladen County said people working with Dowless came to their homes and collected ballots, which would violate state law.

Dowless and Harris both attended Mondays hearing in Raleigh. Dowless lawyer, Cynthia Adams Singletary, has denied her client violated state or federal campaign laws, and Harris has said he was unaware of any wrongdoing.

Under state law, the five member elections board could order a new vote if it finds sufficient evidence that fraud affected the outcome of the election. If it does not, it could certify Harris as the districts congressional representative.

"We hope to have Dr Harris certified so he can take his seat in the congressional district," said David Freedman, a lawyer representing Harris.

Representatives for McCready did not respond to a request for comment.

If the Democrats pick up the seat, they would widen their 235 197 majority in the House after taking control of the chamber from President Donald Trumps fellow Republicans in the November 6 election.

✅ Breaking News - Inter chief hits back at comments from Juve director on Icardi - Duration: 2:26.

Inter Milan chief Giuseppe Marotta has hit back at Juve counterpart Fabio Paratici after he revealed the club's interest in star striker Mauro Icardi

The Argentine looks set to leave Inter this summer after a complete breakdown in contract negotiations that has led to him being stripped of the captaincy and left out the team

Icardi, who has scored 15 goals and contributed three assists in 28 appearances for Inter this campaign, has a contract at the San Siro until the summer of 2021 and Serie A rivals Juventus have made an initial enquiry

Share this article Share Speaking on Monday, Paratici told Rai Radio 1: 'We asked for info

We wanted to know what Icardi thinks about playing for Juve.'But now there are no contacts, he's an Inter player and we are thinking about our season

'Lately there has been no contact, we are in February, he is an Inter player and we have important races ahead of us

It's a theme that we will come back to, or not, in June.' Marotta has now held an interview of his own with Rai Sport and once again insisted the club has no plans to sell their prized asset

He also revealed Inter will consider making a move for Juve's Paulo Dybala as a replacement

'We're not going to sell Icardi,' he said.'We believe he's a great player who's done well for Inter and who will do well in the future

'As for what Paratici said, I think the same answer applies to Dybala: we'll see what he does in June

What Paratici said was inappropriate.'Dybala has fallen down the pecking order in Turin after the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer

The Argentine had not scored for 10 games but finally ended his goal drought in the 3-0 win over Frosinone on Friday night
