LIVERPOOL are stuck with Daniel Sturridge because "nobody's buying him".
That is according to former Reds defender Steve Nicol, who believes Sturridge's pay
packet at Anfield is putting off his potential suitors.
The 28-year-old striker is back at Liverpool after spending the second half of last season
on loan with West Brom.
Nicol told ESPN FC: "I've been saying for two years that Daniel Sturridge should
go.
"So no surprise, Daniel Sturridge should go.
But he isn't going anywhere by the way, no chance.
"The money he's on, nobody's buying him."
Liverpool are struggling to shift another striker on their books, Danny Ings.
Ings, 26, wants to leave the club in search of first-team football and Nicol hopes he
is allowed to move.
"Danny should go," he said.
"At the end of the day in my opinion, Danny's a good Premier League player.
Danny's not a top-four striker in the Premier League in my opinion.
"He won't play, so he needs to go as well."
Loris Karius is another player considering his future following the world-record capture
of goalkeeper Alisson from Roma.
Jurgen Klopp could be tempted to keep Karius as a No.2 but Nicol thinks the German should
be sold for his own good.
"You need a backup that you know can step between the pipes for a couple of games and
make some saves," he said.
"It can't be Karius because not only would the fans have his mistakes from last year
on their mind, he'll have them as well.
So Karius has to go for his own good."
