Chelsea latest news Maurizio Sarri's Napoli may show the movement that Chelsea team hasn't learned - Duration: 3:57.

Maurizio Sarri believes his Chelsea players haven't even learned the basics of his 'Sarri-ball' system

The Italian questioned the mentality of his players following Wednesday's 4-0 defeat to Bournemouth

But there are concerns from a tactical standpoint, too."We had assumed that we learned a certain style of football, but the truth is we never did learn it and are paying the consequences," Sarri told Sky Sport Italia, per the Daily Mail

We haven't even learned the most basic moves yet.We need to work on the basics, the primary foundations of my football, and only then will we try to change a few things

It seems that Sarri will need time to get his players playing the way that he wants them to

His efforts in three seasons at Napoli, which included two second-placed finishes in Serie A, should earn him that

But nothing is certain under Roman Abramovich.Sarri didn't struggle to implement his ways at the Stadio San Paolo, where a team that included Jorginho, Marek Hamsik, Dries Mertens and Lorenzo Insigne played some of the finest football in Europe

And a clip of Sarri's Napoli has surfaced that may highlight the movement that his Chelsea team is yet to learn

It came when Hamsik finished off a neat move in Napoli's 1-1 draw against Juventus on April 2, 2017

The Slovakian received the ball from Jorginho, played a one-two with Mertens and then smashed the ball past Gianluigi Buffon

The clip was posted in Chelsea's reddit page and fans are now debating whether they have the right players to play that kind of football

Our Hamsik role is our weakest spot on the pitch," one fan said."I think it would be worth giving the spot to Ruben Loftus-Cheek and playing Kovacic as an impact sub for Jorginho or as a defensive measure in place of RLC late in the game

Another added: "The point of Sarri-ball is to move the ball around and exploit the space created

Problem is our players can't play that final ball in to exploit the space.A third said: "This movement from Hamsik is something we're beginning to see from Kante, but actually need from Kovacic, Barkley and RLC mostly

World News - Should you invest in one of British banking's new kids on the block? - Duration: 7:25.

Shareholders at Metro Bank have had a grim week. Since it revealed last Wednesday that it had made an accounting slip-up, the stock has fallen 48 per cent

When the Mail revealed that Metro had not discovered the error itself – as it first claimed – but instead was notified by the Bank of England, investor confidence was pushed down even further

But Metro's troubles should not encourage shareholders to tar all of the challenger banks with the same brush

Challengers, so named because they provide an alternative to the major High Street lenders like Barclays, HSBC and Lloyds, are not all the same

Some are relatively similar to the big four but operate on a smaller scale, such as TSB and CYBG, owner of Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank which last year bought Virgin Money

They are targeting the same ordinary customers as the traditional players, taking deposits and making the same bog-standard loans

Then there are the digital start-ups such as Starling, though many of these are not listed on the stock market so investors can't yet get a piece of the action

Specialist lenders liked Charter Court or Paragon, which provide debt to those considered too risky by mainstream operators, are also sometimes put under the challenger bank umbrella

For small investors keen on shares in financial companies, the listed challenger banks may offer an interesting alternative to big-name lenders, says Anthony Da Costa of stockbrokers Peel Hunt

Traditional banks tend to offer a low return on capital. In part this is because they still have costly branch networks, despite closing down hundreds in recent years

Some of the challengers also have lots of branches, such as CYBG and Metro. Others, such as Onesavings Bank, Charter Court, Paragon and Secure Trust, are much more compact

These banks provide specialist mortgage lending to consumers, entrepreneurs and small businesses – people who may struggle to get loans because their income is unpredictable or they have a poor credit score

Metro boss fights for his future: Bank could face. TSB notches up losses of £105m after botched IT upgrade

Share this article Share Because the loans might be more risky than traditional banks are willing to take on, the specialists carry out deeper analysis, taking into account more nuances so they can weigh up the risks

And higher risk means they charge a higher rate to borrowers, which Da Costa reckons makes them highly attractive

They pull in deposits by offering good savings rates through the Best Buy tables published on websites and in magazines

Those funds are then lent to borrowers at a higher rate than is paid to savers.Deposits from retail savers are a more stable and cheaper form of funding than going to the wholesale markets

While many of these banks have steadily increased their lending in recent years, Metro has aimed for rapid expansion

Its speedy growth is one of the reasons it has run into trouble, as the quality of its lending has come into question

Metro's high growth expectations also meant it was valued at as much as 50 times what it earned in a year, because investors were hoping it would become larger and make bigger profits in future

Expectations of how quickly it would grow were much higher than for the likes of Onesavings, Secure Trust Bank and Charter Court, which meant there was plenty of potential to disappoint

The latest share price crash has brought Metro closer into line with its competitors, which are still racking up impressive growth

Russ Mould, investment director at AJ Bell, explains: 'Most challenger banks have been set up subsequent to the great financial crisis to capitalise on the loss of faith by customers, the problems that the big banks brought on themselves, and to offer a more digital savvy approach

The challengers are there to try and give people an alternative to the headlines they saw, or service they received, coming into and out of the crisis

'The fact that several challenger banks – including Charter Court, Onesavings and Metro itself – are not yet old enough to have been tested by a recession may be putting some investors off

Da Costa recalls that one senior individual at a challenger bank even told him recently they would welcome a short, sharp downturn just to prove their model worked

Other factors weighing on the wider sector, such as high competition and the threat of an economic downturn, have kept the challengers' shares depressed

But because they are so low, they could be seen as attractive takeover targets. Lender Shawbrook was bought by private equity in 2017, and Aldermore Bank was scooped up by South Africa's Firstrand later that year

Both deals offered shareholders a decent premium to the share price. As Brexit weighs on banks' shares, Mould says, the possibility of another such deal shouldn't be taken off the table

Liverpool news: Jurgen Klopp hits out at Man City star Kyle Walker for controversial tweet - Duration: 2:54.

Liverpool had the chance to stretch their lead at the top of the Premier League to seven points on Wednesday night after City lost 2-1 at Newcastle on Tuesday

However, their 1-1 draw at Anfield kept City within five points of the leaders and Walker was quick to poke fun at their titre rivals

Alongside a picture of Leicester's goalscorer on the night Harry Maguire, Walker joked: "So basically they thought they were gonna go seven points ahead

" Walker quickly deleted the post but it still left Klopp upset. "I never celebrated that another team dropped points or lost a game

For me that's not allowed," Klopp fumed. "For supporters, it is a little bit different, for people involved I don't understand

"There will always be a bunch of people who hope you win and another bunch who hope you will lose

"You have to ignore both in your preparation, and in the end hopefully you celebrate with the ones who want you to win something

" City boss Pep Guardiola leapt to the defence of his player, saying: "I'm not concerned about the social media of the players, what they tweet or Instagram, or other social media

I cannot control it." Liverpool will be forced to play catch-up this weekend, with City hosting Arsenal on Sunday before Liverpool go to West Ham the following day

Klopp faces going into the game with a makeshift defence yet again as Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez are still injured

Gomez has a fractured lower leg and Klopp revealed he might need surgery before he can return

"I don't know. We will see. It is possible (he will need surgery), probably," Klopp said

"It is not exactly going how we want, that's how it is. He needs more time. We will see exactly how we do it

"There were different moments when we thought we could do this or that. It will take time

We cannot say more."

News24 - Man Utd news: Why Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is 'embarrassing' Jose Mourinho - Martin Keown - Duration: 2:27.

That is the verdict of BBC Sport pundit and former Arsenal defender Martin Keown

Solskjaer has won eight of his first nine matches since taking interim charge of Manchester United in December

The only blemish came on Tuesday when United came back from two goals down to draw 2-2 at home to Burnley

Reports claim Solskjaer is set to get the job full time if United can get past Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League last 16

Keown believes the Norwegian is worthy of the role and admits it does not reflect well on the sacked Jose Mourinho

"I think he very much deserves that Solskjaer," Keown said on Football Focus. "Give him the job, what else does he have to do? "It's incredible the results and you think of the turnaround

"It's almost embarrassing for Mourinho. When Mourinho now sits and ponders what he does next, he's going to have to make an adjustment

"Solskjaer's come in, has put the tactics in of course, but has changed the mood of that football club overnight

" Keown has been impressed with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's tactics and says it reminds him of legendary United boss Sir Alex Ferguson

"It's the DNA isn't it that he has," he continued. "Just recently, Manchester United in the FA Cup playing at Arsenal, Ole brings on the substitutes, [Marcus] Rashford, [Anthony] Martial

"Who else would have done that? Sir Alex Ferguson. "It's very much in that typical mode

"To go to the future they've gone back to the past."
