- No rules this time.
- Adios.
(gun shots)
- I'm excited that this film, that the original
warranted a sequel, it's not the typical
movie that warrants a sequel.
Were you surprised when they came back around
and said, we've got another idea?
- I was a little surprised, but,
but I was, why not, you know, why not?
Yeah, okay, you know, I was excited,
and I read the script, written by Taylor Sheridan
and I was like, okay, this is cool.
- And this one, I mean your guy's
front and center this one.
I mean he, in some ways, he's kind
of like the hidden lead of the first film,
in some ways, alongside Emily. - Right, right.
- But this time, you're kind of front and center.
He really goes on a journey, a dark
journey on this one.
- Right, right.
- Was there enough to chew on for you,
for your character?
Were you excited the places that Taylor
went with your character for this one?
- Yeah, I was excited because,
because it was unpredictable, at least for me,
and um, you know, I think that it's good
to see the character, you know,
caught in that moral dilemma, you know,
between, you know, keep going with the job
which is, basically the war they started,
or, you know, make the right decision
and protect the girl who has nothing
to do with any, who's a victim, an innocent
victim, so, and he makes a decision,
and then this brings the character,
played by Josh Brolin, to confront him
and go head to head, so yes, it's got
all great stuff, you know.
- Has Taylor already told you a little
bit about what he's planned for
the potential third film in this trilogy?
I mean, does Emily's character come back?
- I don't, he mentioned something on the go,
and I don't know if I should say it,
you know, 'cause I haven't really talked
to him and said, "Hey can I say this?"
But he said something and I think, you know,
I think that it would be nice to bring Emily,
back and, you know, have her get her--
- Absolutely.
- Cake and eat it too.
