After being appointed as the new Arsenal manager, Unai Emery has not hesitated to discuss his

plans for Arsenal's attacking duo, Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang next

season.

Since singing Gabonese international Aubameyang in January, Arsenal fans have been craving

a partnership between him and Frenchman Lacazette,

but injuries and ineligibility prevented the duo from combining on a consistent basis.

Whilst having the luxury of possessing two of the deadliest strikers in Europe may tempt

many managers to play with two up top at any given opportunity,

Emery has discussed the fact that his preferred system may not have room for two strikers

on the pitch at the same time.

In an interview with Marti Perarnu, author of 'Pep Confidential' and 'Pep Guardiola:

The Evolution', as translated by Get French Football News, Emery revealed his revealed

his plans for next season.

"Those are my two outlooks from a defensive point of view.

If the ball is in play, you press.

If play stops, you reposition yourself.

"For me, the 4-1-4-1 is the system which facilitates that type of pressing.

The 4-4-2 is designed more and more for zonal positioning.

"It's less aggressive, but is more difficult to get past.

That's the case with Marcelino's teams, Quique Sanchez Flores' teams, Saint-Étienne

when we last played them."

However, Emery did offer a glimmer of hope to any Arsenal fans that are hoping to see

both Aubameyang and Lacazette share the pitch together.

"I am not ruling out the possibility of a 4-4-2.

That's not the idea that I privilege, but if it allows me to be more competitive, then

I'll go towards it without hesitating.

We sometimes used it in Sevilla."

Breaking News - England 45-63 Barbarians: Chris Ashton hat-trick on Twickenham return - Duration: 7:23.

Another defeat for England and humiliation this time too. The national team conceded nine tries at Twickenham as Chris Ashton claimed a hat-trick for the Barbarians, who ran amok to dish out a half-century hammering

This was not what Eddie Jones needed, after finishing the Six Nations with three successive defeats

This was not a Test but it was another damaging loss. It was a record one too; the most points England have conceded in 108 years of international matches at their iconic stadium

They haven't conceded so many anywhere since the infamous Tour of Hell 20 years ago

At a time when Jones is looking around for a new defence coach, this was not a day for Paul Gustard to savour before he leaves that role to take charge at Harlequins

England could not live with the sheer brilliance of Semi Radradra, Josua Tuisova and Ashton

It was a glorious home-coming for the Toulon flier. He revealed in the build-up to this fixture that he wanted to prove a point in front of Jones – having been out of favour before moving across the Channel

He did that in style, with a hat-trick in the space of 22 first-half minutes. There were times when the Barbarians were simply toying with England

It was a sustained affront to local pride. The first 12 minutes was a shuddering shock to the English system; entertaining for the neutrals and excruciating for Jones – watching, aghast, in the stand

That was how long it took for the Barbarians to claim three tries. They had the freedom of Twickenham

Ashton was in his element. His first try was a gift from Josua Tuisova, as the Toulon wing blasted through Mike Brown and surged on to the line, but popped the ball up to his club-mate, so that he could unveil the 'Ash-Splash' swallow-dive routine

That was in the third minute. Four minutes later, he struck again and this time it was a brilliant solo strike, as he chipped over Elliot Daly, ran round and did well to reach the ball first and touch down

It was merry mayhem. The Barbarians kept forming a huddle for an all-in celebration behind England's posts; clapping and cavorting while the hosts were staging hasty inquests

There was another huddle in the 12th minute when, from a training-ground free-kick routine, Russell kicked through in the 22 and Victor Vito gathered, spun through a tackle by Ben Youngs and scored

England were stunned. Twickenham was gripped by shock. Finally, Jones' side stirred and hit back as George Ford released Jonny May and from his pass, Daly twisted and forced his way over

The gap narrowed further in the 20th minute when Jack Singleton stormed into space in midfield and teed up Piers Francis for his first try

There was no let-up in the scoring; no respite for the beleaguered defences. Ashton clinched his hat-trick in the 25th minute, when Russell passed up off the ground, allowing him to race away to the right, past Daly, for another Splash-down

Back came England. Francis superbly claimed the re-start, Daly went through and Zach Mercer was on hand to finish

When Francis struck again just after the half-hour, it meant that – remarkably – the home team were back on terms again, at 28-28

But the Barbarians went into the break ahead after Ashton found a gap in the English defence and released Russell for a try

Just after the interval, the outstanding Semi Radradra left Chris Robshaw flailing and swerved around May to strike; to reassert the visitors' superiority

England responded with a penalty by Ford and then when Joe Launchbury drove over from close range, the gap narrowed to four points

It felt as if this was when the hosts would turn the tables, but instead Lam's men rallied and produced the try of the day

Malakai Fekitoa accelerated past Robshaw and released Tuisova, he passed inside as he was tackled and replacement prop Loni Uhila – AKA the 'Tongan Bear' – delivered a class off-load for Sitaleki Timani to dive into the corner

It was a wonder strike, but there was more to come. Seven minutes from time, Radradra was the magician again, conjuring an opening for Tuisova to score with an audacious, outrageous back-hand off-load

It was the Barbarians' eighth try and after May responded at the other end, Vito scored No 9 for Lam's side

It was another savage blow to English morale ahead of the South Africa tour next month
