Operation UNIFIER,
the CAF mission to support Ukrainian armed forces,
recently conducted Counter Improvised Explosive
Device Disposal training.
Joint Task Force-Ukraine has supported the development
and the implementation of the NATO-aligned training
for the last two years.
We mentor the Ukrainian Armed Forces on two main courses.
First being the Improvised Explosive
Device Disposal Operator course.
And the second being the Improvised Explosive
Device Disposal Assisted course.
The Operator course trains Ukrainian soldiers
how to render safe improvised explosive devices.
And the Assistant course teaches Ukrainian soldiers
how to assist an operator with that process.
Important things during preparation is safety.
Safety is very big and answers the important questions
we need to improve in our combat operations.
We have our own procedures
and this is a very good chance for us to know something better,
know something new to implement during our combat operations.
11 installments of the training have been delivered
with this latest course currently running on an ongoing basis.
As of November 1st, 2017, the CAF has trained
about 5000 Ukrainian soldiers to various disciplines.
The CAF launched Operation UNIFIER in response to requests
from the Government of Ukraine
to help the country remain sovereign, secure, and stable.
That's it for us. Thank you so much for watching.
See you in 2018…
