 Manchester United star Rashford has emerged as a shock transfer target for Real Madrid, who are primed to overhaul their squad at the end of the season

 It has been a turbulent campaign for Los Blancos, who have toiled since failing to replace Cristiano Ronaldo back in the summer

 Karim Benzema is on the wane and Mariano Diaz has also struggled, meaning a big summer at the Bernabeu lies ahead

 And, amid their struggles in La Liga, fresh reports have claimed that Real are ready to fork out £100million to sign Marcus Rashford

 The Sun claim they have also given him certain promises. One would be that Rashford would be their No 1 striker

 Despite enduring a mixed campaign at United, the England international is still better than anything Real currently possess

 And a starring role would be key to enticing the forward. The Sun also say that Real are willing to offer him wages of £250,000 a week

 And that is £50,000 more than what United are currently planning to offer the 22-year-old

 Rashford is said to be intent on staying at the club for now. But whether Real are able to make him change his mind at the end of the campaign remains to be seen

 Rashford has been a man reborn for United ever since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer swaggered into town as Jose Mourinho's replacement last month

 He has even leapfrogged Romelu Lukaku, the club's second most-expensive signing of all time, in the pecking order

 Real may have some work to do, though, to convince United to part with their prodigy

 Relations between the two teams are still strained from the David De Gea transfer saga of 2015

 De Gea wanted to join Real and the La Liga giants had agreed a deal that would see Keylor Navas move to Old Trafford as his replacement

 But United did not file the paperwork in the time. And De Gea is now expected to sign a long-term contract with the Red Devils

Chelsea news: Eden Hazard replacement claim made ahead of Christian Pulisic arrival - Duration: 2:20.

 That's according to former United States international Kyle Martino. Pulisic was signed for a fee of £58m at the beginning of January but was loaned straight back out to Borussia Dortmund

 The American had been linked with Chelsea for months, but he was also said to have been interested in joining Liverpool

 The size of the fee has invited criticism from some, but Martino believes the 20-year-old can live up to it

 And with Hazard looking like he may join Real Madrid in the summer, Pulisic will have to deliver

 "He can [start] and I think $73million says that Chelsea thinks that he needs to be ready to start," he said

 "It is big money for a player who's worth it. "You look at the video and it tells you the quality is there but what's hard to scout is his character

" Martino then went on to note that Pulisic needed some arrogance if he's going to fill the boots of Chelsea's star man

 "But I have talked to some of the US players that were with him and the coaches that have coached him, who have said he is the right side of cockiness," he added

 "He has this confidence where he plays and he wants to take over a game and I just think Chelsea are getting a player that

 "If Eden Hazard leaves, that is ready to come and start right away." If his price-tag is anything to go by, Pulisic will likely come straight into the starting line-up when he links up with his new team-mates in the summer

 The future of Willian, who has been subject to bids from Barcelona in the past, as well as some interest from PSG, is still unclear

 Chelsea may look for other attacking midfielders in the summer, as the futures of Pedro, who's the wrong side of 30, and Callum Hudson-Odoi, are also up in the air

Then, after years of writing about shadows and lights and lore, the true terror of the second day of the second month of the year starts to creep in — the rage and self loathing that must have existed simultaneously within Bill Murrays character in Groundhog Day. And thats before the time loop that traps him in the worst day of his life for eternity.

That movie isnt comedy. Its horror.
