Maurizio Sarri was branded 'stupid' by Martin Keown after making the bizarre decision to bring on a defender over Callum Hudson-Odoi during their defeat by Manchester United

The Chelsea boss' stubbornness to stick with 'Sarri-ball' again proved futile and raised more questions about his future as United highlighted the flaws in the system and picked his side apart to knock them out of the FA Cup

The fans are now turning on him, and seem just at odds with his decision-making as the players do

The biggest disgruntlement of the night came when Sarri opted to use Davide Zappacosta as his last substitute instead of the promising young forward Hudson-Odoi despite his side trailing by two goals

Share this article Share Responding to the change, BBC commentator and Sportsmail columnist Keown said: 'He's [Hudson-Odoi] probably wondering isn't he

I mean they're two goals down and he's put a defender on. Is it a political move from the manager because it's a stupid one if it is

'The 18-year-old, who desperately wanted to move to Bayern Munich in January, was spotted eyeing up his boss with the look of resentment written all over his face after being kept on the bench

Sarri is now facing an uncertain future at the club after this latest humbling and if results do not pick up soon, he will be out the door before the season comes to an end

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, meanwhile, is enjoying a totally different experience to life in the hot seat and earned more plaudits after his side bounced back from last week's disappointment against Paris Saint-Germain to win here at Stamford Bridge

It was another inspiring performance from Paul Pogba too with the midfielder scoring and making one in United's comfortable 2-0 win

The Frenchman put his and the team's turn around in fortunes down to the trust he and his team-mates have built up with interim boss Solskjaer

And Keown's BBC colleague, Alan Shearer, believes the Norwegian deserves much more credit for getting United organised and tactically astute again

He added: 'We are sat here praising the manager saying he's got them smiling again and playing again but he also got this team set up tonight and said this is how we are going to play and this is how we are going to stop them

'He done a magnificent job tactically as well. It's too simplistic to say that he's just got them smiling again because there's a lot more work that goes into it than that

'They are actually really close to being a really good team. I think they are two or three players away from competing right at the top

✅ Breaking News - Mourinho appears to bury the hatchet with former Arsenal boss Wenger - Duration: 2:17.

Jose Mourinho appears to have spectacularly buried the hatchet with Arsene Wenger after lauding his one-time rival as 'one of the best football managers in history

' Mourinho once called the former Arsenal boss a 'specialist in failure' and a 'voyeur' but now insists there was 'real respect' between the two of them

Wenger was receiving the Lifetime Achievement accolade at the Laureus World Sports Awards and Mourinho surprisingly added his voice to the video tributes

Share this article Share The pair regularly clashed during their time in the Premier League and the sniping between them got particularly pointed on occasions

But Mourinho has redressed their relationship. He said: 'There were some episodes along the road

I can only speak by myself. I really enjoyed the competition. But the real respect was always there

The nickname is there - the Invincibles. Amazing. A coaching philosophy, the almost perfect team

He is one of the best football managers in the history of football.' Both Mourinho and Wenger are currently without a club, with the former having been sacked by Manchester United in December while Wenger left Arsenal last year after over two decades in charge

Liverpool News - Jurgen Klopp provides injury update ahead of crunch Bayern Munich clash - Duration: 2:43.

Jurgen Klopp has provided an update on Dejan Lovren's fitness ahead of Liverpool 's Champions League clash with Bayern Munich at Anfield

Croatia defender Lovren has not played in over a month and returned to his homeland to see a strength and conditioning specialist to help address a nagging hamstring problem

Klopp is already resigned to starting the Round of 16 first-leg without the Croat but is hopeful that he will be fit enough for a place on the bench

Fabinho is expected to partner Joel Matip at centre-back with Lovren potentially providing cover alongside a youngster, such as Ki-Jana Hoever

"Dejan we have to see," Klopp said at his pre-match press conference.  "Yesterday he had a 'clearing' session and after that we have to see how he will react

"  However, there was better news on Xherdan Shaqiri as he attempts to prove his fitness ahead of the visit of his former club

Shaqiri played won the Bundesliga twice as well as the Champions League during a two-and-a-half year spell at the club between 2012 and 2015

The Swiss star is keen to test himself against his old teammates, and Klopp confirmed on Monday that he had "trained fully" with the rest of the first team

"He looked very good," the Liverpool boss added.  Klopp knows Bayern well from his time in Germany and will not take them lightly when they visit Anfield

He said: "We respect the quality of Bayern Munich a lot, speed, technique, experience, it's all there, what you need to be successful and we respect that and we try to make the best of the situation

"  On his side's run of matches in the coming weeks, Klopp added: "Game by game you cannot think about it in a different way

"It's always tough and we have to be ready for that and I hope that we are but we have to be focused 100 per cent on tomorrow night or we don't have a chance that's for sure

Lineker and Solskjaer crack brutal joke at Shearer's expense - News Today - Duration: 2:20.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Gary Lineker both brutally reminded Alan Shearer about his lack of FA Cup pedigree - after Manchester United knocked Chelsea out the competition

Newcastle legend Shearer reached the Wembley showpiece twice in his career but never managed to lift the famous trophy

In 1998, Shearer and the Magpies were downed by Marc Overmars and Nicolas Anelka as Arsenal won under the Twin Towers

A year later, Shearer and co were back at the Old Wembley facing United - who were on their way to the Treble

Teddy Sheringham and Paul Scholes were both on the score sheet, while an even more familiar face was also on the teamsheet

United's caretaker boss Solskjaer started upfront alongside Andy Cole and the Norwegian was keen to remind Shearer about his involvement in the match

"The FA Cup is one of the best trophies you can win," Solskjaer said innocently when asked by Lineker about United's ambitions after beating Chesea 2-0 to book a place in the quarter-finals

"I played in 1999 and I think Alan, you also played!  The jibe earned laughter from the BBC studio before Shearer said: "Thanks Ole I was having a great night until then!"  Lineker and Solskjaer then ended the interview with the former Everton and Tottenham hit man aiming his own joke at Shearer

"Thanks very much for reminding us that Alan Shearer never won the FA Cup," Lineker added

Solskjaer won the FA Cup twice with United in 1999 and in 2004, as the Red Devils thrashed Millwall

He is aiming to repeat the feat as a manager and will face Wolves in the last eight

The ex-Cardiff chief is still undefeated in domestic competitions after replacing Jose Mourinho in December - with his only blemish coming against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League

KANE KO Kane ankle injury news is a hammer blow, Spurs are not the same without him - Duration: 6:13.

THE news was a hammer blow for Harry Kane, Mauricio Pochettino and every Tottenham fan

Even when Kane grimaced and limped off the Wembley turf on Sunday, the expectation was that he might be out until the middle of next month

Instead Pochettino faces the nightmare of being without his talisman, focal point and main goalscorer for eight weeks

Spurs without Kane are not the same. The England skipper is integral to boss Pochettino's philosophy

Rival fans laughed and dismissed Spurs as a busted flush — they remember Kane's first ankle injury in September 2016 when his side went seven games without a win in all competitions

But for most of that run Pochettino used Vincent Janssen up top and the Dutchman struggled to make an impact

This time Pochettino DOES have solutions.  He has proved it before. Nine wins in their last ten games without Kane

Now he has to do it again.  Last season Kane hurt his other ankle in a clash with Bournemouth keeper Asmir Begovic

Pochettino's team were a goal down at the time he went off — but with Erik Lamela in a rotating front three alongside Son and Dele Alli, Spurs hit four in the remaining 55 minutes

They backed that up with a 3-0 FA Cup win at Swansea before, with Kane only on the bench, ending their 27-year wait for a win at Stamford Bridge

And the previous season, when Kane was crocked against Millwall, Pochettino's men scored 17 in four games

It is why Son's Asian Cup absence is almost as big a blow for Pochettino as Kane's injury, with the Korean's pace and ability to run in behind a huge asset

The onus, in the short term at least, will be on Brazilian Lucas Moura to fill the Son void, although there will be games when Fernando Llorente, no longer available for sale in the winter window unless another striker is bought, will be asked to lead the line

At least Pochettino knows his other players are in decent form. Moura, Eriksen, Dele and Lamela have scored 26 between them, with Llorente having grabbed four in the domestic cups

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino says free agent Giuseppe Rossi will not be joining the North London club  The problem, though, is as much about the other injuries in a squad that suddenly looks more than a little short

Spurs had 12 players at the World Cup. So far this season, 10 of them - Hugo Lloris, Kieran Trippier, Davinson Sanchez, Jan Vertonghen, Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Christian Eriksen, Mousa Dembele, Dele and Kane - have faced periods, many lengthy, on the sidelines

So have Victor Wanyama, Lucas and Serge Aurier, while Moussa Sissoko twanged his hamstring at Wembley on Sunday

It does add questions for Daniel Levy and his reluctance to make money available in the summer to bolster the squad depth

Pochettino loves promoting youth but it would be hard to expect Oliver Skipp to become part of the starting rotation in midfield, while promising Irish striker Troy Parrott is not ready

If Pochettino cannot find a solution that works, fingers will be pointed - at Levy in particular

Yet the chairman and manager will not engage in any mutual blame-game. They both have faith that Pochettino will get it right, again

We are about to discover if that faith is right, or misplaced. Man Utd and Sir Alex Ferguson celebrate massive win away at Tottenham as Harry Kane hobbles off injured

Fake Thousands rally in US against Trumps national emergency News Al Jazeera - Duration: 3:54.

Fake Thousands rally in US against Trumps national emergency News Al Jazeera

More than 250 rallies held across the US to decry Trumps national emergency declaration to build the border wall.

Washington, DC  Thousands of people rallied nationwide on Monday to protest against the US President declared last week to help fund his long promised .

More than 250 rallies were organised across the on Presidents Day, a US government holiday, with protesters carrying banners and placards that called the national emergency "fake".

"I do think we have a national emergency in this country, this is an emergency to our democratic system," Angelina Huynh, who joined the rally in Washington, DC, outside the White House with her two preschool children, told Al Jazeera.

As the snow fell in Boston, Massachusetts, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley took to the stage to speak against Trumps bid to bypass Congress and help free up dollar 8bn in funds for his wall, which was one of his biggest 2016 campaign promises.

Protesters and civil rights organisations called on Congress to take action against Trumps latest move.

"Thank you other cities and states filing lawsuits! No better way to spend Presidents Day than rallying to stop this crazy President [with] his fake emergency to build a wall!" tweeted Congresswoman Maxine Waters before a rally in Los Angeles, California.

Come for one, face us ALL! Immigrants, Muslim, Black and LGBTQ folks, and white allies standing united outside the White House and Trumps . Our solidarity is .

Trump declared the national emergency after Democrats refused to cave in to his demand of more than dollar 5bn in funding for the wall. That demand led to the of its kind late last year and into 2019.

The shutdown ended in late January when Trump, his fellow Republicans and Democrats agreed to temporarily fund the government while talks on border security continued.

Racing against the clock, Democratic and Republican negotiators came to an agreement last week to keep the government open. The deal did not include funds for Trumps wall but did include about dollar 1.37bn in funding for physical barriers.

Trump agreed to sign the legislation, but also announced he was declaring a national emergency over the border, drawing immediate challenges from Democrats and rights groups.

The president maintains that a wall is needed to stem irregular immigration and the flow of illicit drugs into the country. But statistics show that irregular immigration has been on the decline for decades and most illegal drugs enter the US through official ports of entry.

Activists and civil rights organisations were joined at rallies on Monday by those affected by Trumps policies over the past two years since he took office, including those affected by the ban on travellers from several Muslim majority countries, the crackdown on undocumented immigration and child separations at the border.

"I have a question, how many people are angry?" a speaker called out to hundreds of protesters at noon in Lafayette Park in the US capital. "How many people are sick and tired of being sick and tired?" the crowd was asked as they cheered in response.

Jo Hannah from Texas visited the border in 2017 and said she saw no emergency. Instead, she saw a plan that would devastate wildlife in the area and a plan that could tear down a wildlife centre in San Antonio.

"Around 10,000 monarch butterflies breed in this centre every year, and they are going to tear this centre for the wall," she said to Al Jazeera from the Washington, DC rally.

Check out all the people at the against the and his racist agenda. Congress must act now!

Since Trumps announcement on Friday, several Democrats said they would challenge the declaration that would help Trump override Congress purse power.

Cheers erupted outside the White House as a member of the American Civil Liberties Union ACLU told a crowd that the civil rights group was preparing to sue Trump for declaring a national emergency.

So far, three Texas landowners and an environmental group have filed the first lawsuit challenging Trump, the nonprofit watchdog group Public Citizen said.

California Attorney General Xavier Becerra told local media that he planned to file a suit as well. In an interview, he said the suit was "definitely and imminently" coming.

New Mexico, Oregon, Minnesota, New Jersey, Hawaii and Connecticut are among several states joining the lawsuit, local media reported, quoting the attorney generals office.
