Arsenal transfer news: Mesut Ozil's agent fires message to Unai Emery amid exit claims - Duration: 3:34.
The playmaker has struggled to impress under Emery following the Spaniard's arrival in the summer
Emery dropped the 30-year-old last month, claiming Ozil wasn't up to the physicality of the Premier League
**PREDICT FIVE RESULTS AND WIN £25,000 - FREE TO PLAY HERE** Ozil has also missed numerous games through injury and illness amid speculation the Arsenal star could leave in January or in the summer
However, Ozil's agent Sogut says the German is desperate to shine under Emery this season
"In the last year, there has been enormous upheaval for everybody at the club and the first half of this season has not been perfect for Mesut," he told Goal
"He has suffered from injuries and illness, and is working hard to adapt to the different system employed by head coach Unai Emery
"This may take time, but Mesut will give everything he has to help make it work and bring success to Arsenal
" Ozil's long-term future at the Emirates is unclear, despite the midfielder penning a £350,000-a-week contract this year
Gunners hero Paul Merson recently urged Emery to sell Ozil, claiming the playmaker is stopping other world-class stars from heading to Arsenal
Merson said: "Arsenal have got to get rid of Mesut Ozil. They need his wages off the books because he is giving them nothing at the moment
"He hardly ever plays and, when he does, the manager is taking him off at half-time
"You can't justify paying him that much money if he isn't starting every game and putting a shift in
"He is also a problem because while he's there it's going to stop Arsenal signing any really world-class players
"Any big-name £80-90m star is going to want to be the highest-paid player at the club, but that can't happen with Ozil on that much money
Arsenal can't afford it. "Unai Emery looks like a man who's been told to play him so they can show people what he can still do and put him in the shop window
"But it's just not working, and it's the reason Aaron Ramsey wants out. He has a right to wonder why Arsenal won't give him what he wants when they gave Ozil so much more
"If Arsenal can do some sort of deal where they have to subsidise his wages to get rid of him, they should do it
It's time to bite the bullet." Ozil and Arsenal are back in action against Blackpool in the FA Cup this weekend

Chelsea latest news: Maurizio Sarri admit he had no idea £58m Christian Pulisic was going to sign - Duration: 2:55.
Maurizio Sarri has made the startling admission that he had no idea Chelsea would sign Christian Pulisic for £58million on Tuesday
The manager had previously been asked for his opinion of the Borussia Dortmund forward but wasn't kept in the loop about the deal
Chelsea announced the transfer for the American on Tuesday, with Pulisic remaining with the Bundesliga leaders until the end of the season
And when Sarri was asked about his new player in the wake of Chelsea's 0-0 home draw against Southampton, he made the eye-opening revelation
'I don't know,' said Sarri when asked about the Pulisic signing.'I didn't know anything about Pulisic on Tuesday
'The club asked my opinion about him about one month ago.My opinion was positive.Today I have known that the deal is done but I didn't know anything
' Chelsea have a growing injury list with Pedro, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Willian injured, placing an additional burden on key man Eden Hazard
Given his lack of options out wide, Sarri was asked whether he would have preferred Pulisic to have joined his ranks straight away
'I don't know, I am not in control of the market.I have to think about the pitch, improving my team and the offensive phase,' he said
'We are good to build up the action, we have to improve in the last 20 metres. The club know my position, it is up to the board
' He added: 'As I said before I am not in charge of the market, it is difficult for me to talk about the market or the deal of Pulisic
