Arsenal lost Sanchez to Manchester United with the feeling at the time that the Gunners had made a massive transfer error
Comparisons with Robin van Persie's own controversial move to Old Trafford six years ago arose almost immediately
Many believed Arsenal were selling a player at the peak of their powers to a United lacking just a bit of stardust to close the gap on Manchester City
Sanchez has since, though, toiled at the Emirates. Three goals, on a mega salary of £500,000 a week (according to some publications), has been a meagre return
And the Evening Standard claim Sanchez was signed by United despite his behaviour at Arsenal often raising eyebrows
It is claimed the 29-year-old was frequently late for training. At the moment, Sanchez appears to have cut that bad aspect out of his game
Senior sources at the club recently described him as among the hardest workers in the squad
Yet that was not the only bad thing Sanchez did during his time at Arsenal. The Evening Standard say he would often skip the club's commercial or corporate requirements
That may explain why Sanchez often swerved interviews with Arsenal's in-house television channel
And the player would also reportedly fail to respond to emails from the club's staff
Right now, Arsenal appear to have got the last laugh. And Paul Ince thinks the player himself may be regretting his decision to jump ship
He told Paddy Power: "When Alexis Sanchez first went to Manchester United, it was obvious he was going to a team that doesn't suit the way he plays
"The style of play is completely different. "I see people saying that he doesn't try or doesn't work hard enough, and I'm not having that
"He works as hard as he can, but when the way you play just doesn't fit into a team, what else can you do? "Alexis Sanchez will regret not going to Manchester City
"If he'd gone there, it would have been the absolute best move for him."
