 That is the view of Stoke striker Peter Crouch. Martial has struggled to win favour at times under Jose Mourinho, although this season he has hit three Premier League goals in six outings playing in a slightly wider berth

 Mourinho has preferred to make Romelu Lukaku the focal point of the attack, although the Belgian has failed to find the net in any of his last eight matches in all competitions

 Last summer, Martial, was linked with a move away from Old Trafford and his agent, Philippe Lamboley, suggested his client was ready to quit the Red Devils

 But Crouch is adamant that Martial is an outstanding footballer and the best thing for him to do is to stay with United

 "It is remarkable that Anthony [Martial] is in the final year of his contract at Manchester United," Crouch told the Daily Mail

 "I had to do a double take when I saw he is still only 22 because it feels like he has been on the scene for a long time

 "The reality is he is only just getting started in his professional life. "He looks to me like a player who will respond to having an arm around his shoulder, one of those individuals who needs to be looked after to stop him going into his shell

 "He thrives when he is confident and you saw how good he can be at Chelsea last Saturday

 "There is a lot of talk around what will happen with his deal but one thing you can say for certain is that, if the deadlock continues, come January 1 every top club in Europe will want him

 "Martial could be United's main striker for the next 10 years and it would be crazy if he was allowed to drift away for nothing

 "I would be amazed if that happens. United paid £50million for him and it would cost more than that to find a replacement of comparable quality

" United host Everton next on Sunday (4pm).

 "His challenge is to inject that spirit into this team so that they take the game to their opponents from the off

 "So far, he has been doing it by keeping his players on their toes. "As a professional, you should always play with a lingering fear that you could lose your place

 "For too long these players have been in a comfort zone but Emery is shaking them out of it with constant changes to his XI

" Despite winning 11 in a row, former Arsenal star Paul Mariner is still worried about the Gunners' defence

 "My concern is that defence, I just cannot get over that defence," Mariner said. "Going forward, the pace they've got, the one and two touch forward is breathtaking, it's fantastic

 "But defensively, they worry me to death and will continue to do so. "They gave up 13 shots against Sporting

If you're flying, if you're in sync, if everything is rolling, you don't give up 13 shots

 "It's a terrible Sporting Lisbon team, fifth in the league, they're absolutely atrocious

 "So it wasn't a massive test but my issue always will be this defence."
