Chelsea news live: The Blues star that needs a new deal, Costa slams Stamford Bridge transfer - Duration: 4:48.

Eden Hazard once again dominated all the headlines on Saturday evening after another fantastic performance for the Blues

Fresh from scoring an outstanding winner against Liverpool on Wednesday evening in the Carabao Cup, the Belgian haunted Jurgen Klopp's side once again with a superb low strike across Alisson

While Hazard quite rightly deserves the plaudits at present after a fine start to the new campaign, David Luiz also warrants praise for a great showing against the Reds

Often criticised for taking risks and putting his teammates in danger, the Brazilian was sensational against Mohamed Salah and Co

Looking to be heading for the exit door at Stamford Bridge after falling out of favour under Antonio Conte last season, the centre-back has been given a new lease of life by Maurizio Sarri

Luiz has flourished under the ex-Napoli boss, thus seeing him making a big impression on the Italian in the process

"Yes, I have to say he is a lot better than I thought," he told reporters after Saturday's draw

"A lot better, both as a player and as a man."I don't know what happened before I arrived, but when I arrived here, immediately I had the feeling that he is a very good player for my way of football because he is a very technical centre back

".It's also evident that Sarri is having a big impact on Luiz and his teammates."Sarri is giving us a lot of happiness to play football," he told Chelsea TV

"We are trying to enjoy."."He gives us a lot of confidence. He shows us what he wants

He gives us the details about the game. He works hard in every situation. And also as a human he's a fantastic person

".Featuring in only 17 games for the Blues last season under Conte, Luiz, who has already made nine appearances for the club this term, will surpass that total by a considerable distance providing he doesn't get injured

Despite starting off the game against the Reds will a couple of loose passes, the experienced defender got better and better as the game went on

Not only did he nullify the threat of Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino throughout the 90 minutes, he also had an impact in getting the Blues forward

A sensational long ball to release Willian in the first half nearly gave the hosts the lead, before then doing likewise after the break as he sent his fellow countryman on another attack

Luiz's most important contribution of the match then came midway through the second half as he managed to block Firmino's header from James Milner's cross on the line

Given the Reds had put Chelsea under intense pressure as they went in search of an equaliser, they surely would have claimed the three points had it not been for Luiz's intervention

Starting off the season in fine form, it appears that the 31-year-old is going to be a key part of Sarri's Chelsea revolution going forward

While the Blues will be doing all they can to ensure that Hazard is playing his football in west London for the foreseeable future, the club also have a number of other players with their contracts running down

Olivier Giroud, Cesc Fabregas and Gary Cahill will all be able to leave the club on a free transfer come the summer as it stands, with Luiz also in exactly the same boat

Given an exit for Cahill looks likely as he searches for regular football, the club simply cannot afford to let two of their most experienced centre-backs depart for nothing

As important as a new deal for Hazard is at present, discussions needs to take place with Luiz and his representatives about extending his stay in the capital

Comfortable on the ball and with the experience of playing in big games, he looks set to be key for Sarri again this season

Having almost seen the back of him in the summer had Conte remained in charge, Chelsea fans may be about to see the very best of the ex-Benfica defender again

A key figure in their last title-winning campaign, a repeat of the 2016/17 season for the player and the club would go down extremely well in the capital

Arsenal news: Unai Emery explains Maurizio Sarri handshake snub after Chelsea defeat - Duration: 3:32.

Arsenal lost 3-2 to Chelsea yesterday afternoon with the Blues surviving a scare to secure all three points and consign Emery to a second consecutive defeat

The hosts raced into an early lead through Pedro and Alvaro Morata, only for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi to restore parity

Chelsea then struck a late winner through Marcos Alonso to ensure their winning start under Sarri continue

Arsenal boss Emery was not seen shaking hands with Sarri after the final whistle, instead choosing to storm down the tunnel

And the Arsenal boss has revealed why he snubbed his Chelsea counterpart. Emery said: "I waited for him in the dressing-room to give him my hand

" Arsenal already face a fight to transform their Premier League fortunes with the Emery era yet to take off

The Spaniard was in rueful mood yesterday, admitting his team paid for their failure to finish off their chances

He added: "We want to win. This is always the way but it is clear that defensively we suffered three goals but also we had chances to do more goals

"I think the result is 3-2 but we also think we did chances to do more score. "In the first half we are creating chances to score, and for that I am happy, I am in the match thinking we are well on the pitch

But also they had options, chances to score and effectivity (sic) is the difference

"Our reaction is good, we had chances to go 2-2 and we deserved to do more at half-time

"The half-time is good for us and the second half is we need to continue this control, but I think the second half we don't push and keep possession like we did in the first half, and in our moments, our chances, we didn't do, and they did

"That is why the results is 3-2. But it is one process. In the second half we played with two midfielders, 19 and 21 years old

"They improve and are continuing. I am happy without the result." Arsenal will be aiming to bounce back when they face West Ham next Saturday (3pm)

Chelsea, meanwhile, are next in action against Newcastle in seven days time (4pm)

Ian Wright was encouraged by Arsenal despite their Chelsea defeat. Speaking on BBC's Match of the Day, Wright said: "They didn't help themselves [for the third goal], it was a poor sloppy bit of play from Lacazette

"Where was he passing it to? Back into the danger area and from there they were in trouble

"When you consider how Arsenal got back into this game [given] how it started for them and how they got back into it, it really was quite a sloppy goal to give away in respect of Lacazette's poor play

"But I'm quite enthused by what I've seen from Arsenal, especially offensively."
