Waching daily Sep 28 2018

The Red Devils are engulfed in crisis on and off the pitch with the Red Devils currently dealing with the fallout of Mourinho's latest showdown with Paul Pogba

The France midfielder is reportedly determined to join Barcelona and clashed with his manager in a frosty exchange in training this week which was caught by television cameras

But the Daily Mail claim that Mourinho has also had to reprimand Rashford and spoke with the striker after United's Champions League win at Young Boys earlier this month to assert his authority

It is claimed that Rashford did not follow instructions from the coaching staff after the match and failed to complete a full warm-down as is protocol to help reduce the chance of injuries

Rashford played 69 minutes against Young Boys but disappointed out on the right flank despite United's 3-0 triumph in Switzerland

And the 20-year-old was apparently challenged by his manager, who made it clear he will not tolerate such behaviour and that he is not too important to obey orders

It is claimed that Rashford's attitude has been a problem since the World Cup, where he was part of the England squad that reached the semi finals in Russia

The United academy graduate suffered the first red card of his career in a win over Burnley at the start of September after allowing his temper to get the best of him in a coming-together with Phil Bardsley

Rashford's behaviour off the pitch even saw him criticised in a team meeting with Mourinho last week - which came before their frustrating home draw to Wolves and their shock Carabao Cup exit to Derby

The Mail suggest that Rashford is among a contingent of players who are good friends with Pogba along with want away striker Anthony Martial, Eric Bailly and Andreas Pereira as United's issues threaten to derail their campaign altogether

It is claimed the same team meeting saw Mourinho single out Pogba's leadership qualities despite having captained United in three of their five matches by that time

The ongoing fall-out between the Portuguese coach and Pogba saw the star stripped of his vice-captaincy earlier this week following his public criticism of Mourinho's tactics after the draw with Wolves

That was on Tuesday, with Pogba and Mourinho's relationship only deteriorating further after their training stand-off

It is thought that was due to a misunderstanding over a social media post of Pogba's, which showed him laughing and joking with Pereira and Luke Shaw in the stands during their defeat to Derby

Pogba allegedly protested that the post to his Instagram story was filmed during the first half when his side led 1-0, only for the wi-fi in the stadium to delay the time it went live - making it look as though he was enjoying himself as his team-mates were dumped out of the cup

The saga between Pogba and Mourinho looks set to run until one or the other leaves Old Trafford with Pogba keen to join Barca - although it is not clear whether or not the Spanish giants will be able to meet United's price demands

Much will be made of whether Pogba is in the starting line up when they face West Ham at the London Stadium tomorrow (12

30pm) while Rashford returns after serving his three-match ban.

Chelsea news: Ross Barkley makes confident Liverpool and Man City title claim - Duration: 3:42.

The Blues have yet to lose this season and became the first team to beat league leaders Liverpool, albeit in the Carabao Cup, on Wednesday night

Eden Hazard's 30-minute cameo swung the game in Chelsea's favour as they laid down a marker before their higher-stakes Premier League showdown tomorrow (5

30pm) at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are one of three unbeaten Premier League teams after six games alongside Liverpool, with a 100 per-cent record, and defending champions Manchester City - also on 16 points from 18

City and Liverpool have been talked about as the two main challengers for the domestic crown in 2018-19 with Chelsea generally cast by the wayside

That's after a chaotic pre-season limited the time Maurizio Sarri had to implement his methods on his players

But the west London outfit have defied pre-season expectations and thus far have shown themselves to be possible contenders - even though many still view Liverpool and City as a level ahead of them

Sarri himself even admitted last week that Chelsea will take a year to get to the level of their Merseyside rivals

But ahead of their highly-anticipated top-flight meeting this weekend, Barkley - who has taken up a central midfield role under Sarri having previously been more of a No 10 - thinks that Chelsea can be right up there with Liverpool and City

Asked about his chances of forcing his way back into the England team after injuries last season wrecked his hopes of making the World Cup, Barkley told journalists: "These things happen in football and you have got to take them

"I was injured and then I wasn't in the squad. But you have just got to react in the right, positive way

I feel like I have done that. It's important I let my football do the talking now

"I have got a platform. I'm at a massive club in Chelsea and we are going to challenge for all the titles this season

I believe that.  "I want to let my feet do the talking for my club and if that happens, I believe I will be back on the international scene sooner rather than later

" Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate was present at Anfield to witness Barkley turn in a display befitting of his rejuvenated confidence under Sarri and the 24-year-old is determined to win a place in the squad having not represented his country since May 2016

He added: "I haven't spoken to [Southgate]. I'm sure he is focused on the squad he is picking

I have had injuries and it's all about me going out to show what I can do for Chelsea

"It's down to me to show I can be that [creative] player. I believe I can. I will keep improving - and I will show I am that type of player

"The ambition is to add goals and assists to what I am doing. I'm hoping to add a lot more goals as the season goes on

" Barkley played the full 90 minutes of Chelsea's cup win over Liverpool - the former Everton midfielder's first ever win over the Reds - but will hope to keep his starting place for their second clash in four days
