Hello and welcome to the Manchester United transfer roundup for the day! With the World Cup coming to its final stages,
it seems as though the rumour market is also picking up pace as there are a few updates regarding the Red Devils and the players linked to them.
There are not many rumours today surrounding the Old Trafford outfit, but the ones up ahead are important ones.
So without further ado – let's begin!.
#5 Darmian speaks about potential move and Blind.
When Manchester United signed Matteo Darmian from Torino, many hoped that he would go on to become an important member of the first team for the Red Devils.
However, he couldn't replicate his form at Old Trafford and just kept falling down the pecking order.
And now there is a good chance that he leaves the Theatre of Dreams as he wants to be a starter.
According to Darmian himself, he hasn't talked about a renewal with his current employers – his contract ends next year, and he admitted that he could move back to Italy as 'his doors are open' to clubs which promise him more playing time.
'United are a top club, but wanting to be a starter is normal', Darmian said.
'I have one more year on my contract and we haven't talked about a renewal. My agent knows what I want.'.
'Returning to Italy? It could be Juve, Inter or Napoli or someone else, it is not for me to say.
'In any case, I'd only want to move to a club that offers me the best solution. My doors are open.'.
Meanwhile Daley Blind who joined Manchester United after the World Cup in 2014, could leave the club this summer.
After initially having a good start to his career at the Old Trafford, he eventually lost his place as an undisputable starter and has been reduced to a squad player.
He might however have a way out as VoetbalZone report that Ajax want him back at the club.
The Dutchman almost joined Roma in January but the deal collapsed at the last minute.
Blind is also said to be interested in moving back to the Netherlands.
#4 United chase Haaland and Mandzukic.
Erling Braut Haaland is a 17-year-old forward that plays for Molde FK in the Eliteserien – Norway's top league, and is now being targeted by Manchester United as their Scandinavian scout Tommy Moller Nielsen watched him play against Brann, in a match where the youngster scored four goals in his team's 4-0 win.
Haaland's father Alfie is a former Manchester City player according to Daily Star, he is also being targeted by Leeds United.
Meanwhile, Croatia superstar Mario Mandzukic seems to be on the radar of Manchester United according to Express, Jose Mourinho wants the Juventus man at Old Trafford as a backup to Romelu Lukaku.
#3 Probable good news for United.
It is a bit surprising that out of all players that play football under the sun, Jose Mourinho's obsession is making Manchester United put an effort to sign Willian from Chelsea.
The Brazilian might be a hardworking attacker – an archetype Mourinho player, but certainly the Red Devils could do better.
What was even more shocking was Barca's supposed interest in him. .
However, according to Catalan outlet Sport, Barcelona admire the player that Willian is but have no interest in signing him because they are already stocked with players in that position.
And this seems like news that will make Mourinho happy.
#2 The want for Madrid players.
Real Madrid might see a lot of players leaving the club in the summer, as no less than three players have openly admitted that they could leave.
Meanwhile, Toni Kroos is also being linked with a move out of the club and so is Raphael Varane.
According to Diario Gol, Jose Mourinho wants Toni Kroos who has a release clause of €500 million with Madrid and are willing to pay around €200 million to acquire the services of the German.
Meanwhile, Raphael Varane is also a player Jose Mourinho likes as De Gea has informed Ramos that the Portuguese wants the French defender who has a release clause of €200 million.
#1 Leonardo Bonucci.
Duncan Castles is someone who is known to have a good relationship with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, and according to him, the Red Devils have AC Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci on their transfer target list.
"Bonucci is one of several candidates that Man United have listed to strengthen at centre-half," Castles said.
"So that is one we should pay attention to this week.
Bonucci was signed by AC Milan last summer for a relatively low amount of €40 million from Juventus.
He didn't move out of Italy due to his family last time around with Chelsea chasing him, so it would be interesting to know if he will decide to go abroad this time around.
