From Dallas, Texas #TodosSomosHunters (#WeAreHunters!)...
Good morning Hunters! Today I brought you to "Apatlaco Flea Market"...
Today is Sunday and I hope the hunt will be great!
Join me on this adventure!!!
"Modern Archeology"
Good morning...
Hello!
Great! The Alien Mantis from Kenner...
How much are you asking for this Alien?
$5 USD...
It´s in great conditions! It looks that it was never played.
May I see your Pepsi Cards?
They are really cool!
How much are they?
$20 USD for the whole set...
Oh right! You have more over here.
The good stuff!
A lot of "Hunters" have been asking me for the Pepsi Cards...
I´m not an expert on them but I appreciate them because it was a Mexican promotion.
The holograms and the prisms are the most sought-after cards...
We can see Carnage, Cyclopes, Iron Man...
We are just starting but it seems it will be an awesome day!
This beauty has its history!!!
This machine was from my grandfather...
It was built in 1952 and it´s a replica that my grandpa did.
The original piece is in Madrid, Spain and has more than 200 years old!
My grandfather used to have a Spanish friend who worked sharpening knives over there...
One day my grandpa told him if he could bring a picture of his machine so he could replicate it here in Mexico.
The wheel was from an English man who left it in Spain...
So the blacksmith thought it would be great to make the machine with it.
My father did 7 copies of this machine for his brothers who are my uncles.
My father and uncles passed away but I still do this job, it´s a family business.
My name is Jose Juan Cortes Salinas...
I´m the knife sharpener of the neighborhood!
I can see that you already pimped your machine dude!
I tune it!
The new generations always tell me that it´s very trendy...
But they don´t know that this machine has a long history.
The story behind it is awesome!
The truth is that a good knife sharpener can do the job in any grinder...
This is a job is very cool because it will never end everyone needs to sharpen their knives.
I love my job! And I will die doing it... But who will do this after that day?
$4 USD for each Troll!
How much are you asking for this suitcase?
$10 USD?...
Look at this tool!!! It has corkscrew... A glass cutter...
A mini ruler... And a sun watch!!!
I love these kinds of things!!!
This vintage drill is incredible!
There are a lot of collectors of vintage tools.
In this flea market they will find a lot of them!
How much are you asking for this tool?
$10 USD!
How much is this one?
$18 USD...
The art in the back is very cool!
That one is a laser disk...
It´s common to find these kinds of disks among the LPs... They were like the DVDs of that era, right?
That´s right, it´s the predecessor of the DVD.
These disks have the size of an LP.
It was a very expensive technology. I remember that only wealthy people could afford to buy them.
Let me see those color LPs!!! I love those kinds of disks.
I have been keeping these ones to sell them to a client...
And they are sought-after just for the color it doesn't matter the content, right?
That´s right!
Show us the jewels you have bring today dude!
Something you could sell to your best clients.
This is a very desired piece, the LP of "Take Five".
This is a great one...
"La Bamba"!!!
Uff... This is an LP that talks a lot about an era... Chico Che (famous Mexican musician from the 70s and 80s).
He is part of the pop culture!
I only collect "The Beatles" LPs and some from soundtracks such as "The Orange Clockwork"...
"2001: A Space Odyssey"... And of course Michael Jackson!!!
In the late 70s, my dad had an LP store and I worked there from 1979 to 1995...
Great!
It was a little store in a market!
So we had a lot of music influence since we were kids.
It was a luxury to buy LPs in those days...
We were not wealthy but we had the opportunity to have many of them.
It´s very cool that you can still preserve the legacy of your father and that you treasure this job.
I lived the disco music from the 80s it was awesome.
This LP is very rare because it's a multisided record!
It means that the "B" side is included in the "A" side.
So when you play the record you can have 2 songs on the same side!
I want to give it to you as a present to let you hear it and enjoy it!
Wow!!! We got a present. Thanks, man!
One of the best things about coming to these kinds of places is to learn about new stuff...
The sellers are living encyclopedias that give us their knowledge...
Their job is very admirable!
Guys, just come and don´t think on what will you find... Come here thinking about what you will learn!
Come to this flea market and you will buy something great for sure!
Great gift!!! #ComoZebra (Mexican slang to say you hit the jackpot)...
Disco music... Pop music!
I was imitating "Sonido la Changa" (famous Mexican music) and I found the record!!!
It´s a classic!!!
Let´s go!
Did you bring something of "Rigo"?
Sure!
Great! "Rigo Tovar y su Costa Azul" (Mexican famous musician from the 70s and 80s)...
Wow! You have a lot of them...
Uff... This one is awesome! I love all the space stuff.
Rigo Tovar '81...
There are many iconic covers!
Very artistic!
How much is this one?
This is Rigo and his band!
$2 USD...
Great price...
I will take this one and I will put it behind my space robots.
This flea market opens every day but I recommend you to come on Sundays because there are more stalls.
Thursdays are also good but the best day is Sunday because they put stalls from "La Viga" till "Eje 3"...
Over "Apatlaco" avenue.
It´s very cool! How much is it?
$90 USD...
This could be the best gift for a "Warsie" girl...
I can see your main line is Star Wars, right?
Yes! It´s my strongest product.
I´m getting excited about those vintage SW figures over there!
How much is this Gamorrean Guard?
$40 bucks!
It´s a Lili Ledy figure!
Great!
We can see other toy lines over there such as G.I. Joe, Aliens, Avatar...
Those fluorescent Trolls are crazy! How much are they?
$2.5 USD for each one...
"The Simpsons" memorabilia are very sought-after collectibles but the vintage stuff is very hard to find.
I want to send greetings for all the "Hunters" that collect Simpson objects!
This is awesome! Look at the jaws...
Sometimes when I hunt for toys I find a lot of the same toy line so when I´m in the middle of the stalls ...
I start thinking that maybe if I would have bought the first I saw...
Now I could have almost half of the collection.
That´s common... Some clients want a figure but when they come back that figure is gone!
So they regret not buying it before!
Thank you very much!
Thanks for coming and visiting us!
I wish you luck in the sales.
Thanks!
Have a great day!
See you soon bro!
As you can see there are a lot of food stalls... I´m starving!
We have bought a few things, that means the hunt has been worthy!
So now I´m looking for a "Carnitas" stall (Carnitas are made by braising or simmering pork in oil...
Or preferably lard until tender) that some sellers recommend us.
May I have a "Taquito" of "Buche" and one of "Nana" (parts of the pig).
Many sellers recommended us this stall! Let's see if it's true that they are yummy.
Thanks!
For those who are not from Mexico... One of the secrets of good tacos are the salsas!
They have a great assortment.
Uff... It looks great!
100% recommended!
The "Habanero" (hot variety of chili pepper) sauce is super spicy!!!
Soooo yummy!
#TodosSomosHunters! (#WeAreHunters!).
A special greeting to my sons Michael and Matias! They are your fans.
Hello buddies! Why aren´t you here?
They are very young! They have 6 and 10 years old but they are huge fans of yours.
Whats up buddy? Do you collect something?
I like Mario Bros!!!
Great! It´s a very cool character...
We found our first "Tepache" (fermented beverage made from the peel and the rind of pineapples exclusively...
And is sweetened either with piloncillo or brown sugar, seasoned with powdered cinnamon and served cold).
What´s your name, my friend?
Francisco!
May I have one small please?
Uff... It has a lot of ice! The plastic cup is sweating because it is very cold.
Those little pleasures that we can have in the flea markets... Tepache, delicious tacos, and the hunting!
#TodosSomosHunters! (#WeAreHunters!)...
I found a stall with video game consoles!
How much are you asking for your NES?
I´m asking $23 USD and it has all its accessories.
Does it work?
Yes! It works perfectly.
Wow! The price is super good.
Some people are getting crazy to get the mini reedition piece! But I tell them that is better to get the vintage one.
This game is a classic! It´s common but it´s good.
Cool! This Super Nintendo video game of Donkey Kong 3... How much is it?
$13 USD...
The Super Nintendo is the most commercial console...
How much are you asking for the Nintendo 64?
That one is $50 USD!
#TodosSomosHunters! (#WeAreHunters!)
Yeah!
We were just talking about that we saw you in "La Guerrero" flea market...
We sell here on Sundays and in "La Guerrero" on Thursdays...
What kind of stuff you sell?
In "La Vicente Guerrero" everything from shoes, toys, sneakers, DVDs, irons and more...
And which one do you think is the best objects to sell? When can you say you hit the jackpot?
When we find vintage toys!
Antiques are selling well nowadays, right?
For how long have you been doing this job?
I´ve been selling for more than 20 years!
We were talking about your videos and suddenly you appeared from nowhere.
Cheers!
One of my motivations to come to the flea markets besides the hunt is to meet "Hunters" like them!
Have a little chat with them in the shadow... They are having a beer...
We just ate some "Carnitas"!
We also ate there!
We are "los borrachos" (drunk men) of "Apatlaco"!
LOL!
The corner of "los borrachos" of "Apatlaco"... lol
#TodosSomosHunters!
Hey! This Battle Troll of Frankenstein is really cool.
It´s very cool because it talks about the 90s and the neon style of that era.
And they mixed it with Frankenstein which is a classical monster!
I bought it to make a giveaway for you guys... We couldn't record much in the stall but I paid $2.5 USD.
So stay tuned this Thursday because this could be yours!
A bunch of NES cartridges... TMNT for $12.5 USD...
Ninja Gaiden! This was one of my favorites as a child.
Bad Dudes...
I love "Jaws"!!!!
And for $5 USD it´s a bargain!
Before making toys, LJN produced video games!
Many people don´t like the titles they made but they are part of the history.
May I see the "Hugo Sanchez" (Mexican famous soccer player from the 70s, 80s, and 90s) figure?
Now we are in the hype for the World Cup!!!
How much is it?
$1.5 USD
Great! The "Hugol"!!!!
The card says: "The star of the World Cup 1986". And he is getting out from the packaging! LOL
I will buy 2 to make a giveaway on the channel because I think there are a lot of soccer fans!
I´m choosing the ones in better conditions.
Remember all these kinds of bootleg figures were made with low-quality paint and materials...
That´s why the paint comes off really easy.
This figure was never played and the paint is falling apart!
So always try to choose the one with better conditions.
This is the chosen one!
How much are this figures?
I´m asking for .15 cents on each one.
Cool!
I have great prices dude!
I love that!
Pay attention guys because between the new stuff you can find the vintage toys we are looking for!
This seller has great stuff...
How much are you asking for this bootleg figure?
That one is cheap! I´m asking $1.5 USD...
Cool...
Take a look at all the stuff...
How much for the blue one?
.10 cents!
Remember to search everywhere because you never know where the good stuff is going to be.
This Budha is awesome! It´s made from a kind of sponge.
These are cool but I don´t know which toy line they are... Help me in the comments guys!
They have MPG markings...
They are like little monsters!
I found another one! Cool...
How much is this hologram?
$1.5 USD...
This was part of the Secret War figures...
Another one!
It has holograms on both sides.
That´s right!
I can´t stop watching!
This Mickey Mouse lamp is so cute... I will buy it for my friends from "La Tribu Macias Reyes".
They collect Mickey Mouse stuff!
Now the best part! The negotiation.
This is Fer and he is also a "Hunter"!!!
Hey dude! It´s very cool that you are into the retro collectibles.
Yes I do!
Which collections are your favorites?
Everything from Lili Ledy (Mexican toy manufacturer)...
Really? You know what you are doing man!
I want to buy these things... How much is it?
Ok... (making the total account). Give me $3.5 USD.
Great!
He is also a great business man!
How much is this piggy bank?
$5 USD...
Let's rub Buddha's belly for luck in the hunting.
It's very nice... How much are you asking for it?
$2.5 USD...
Would you take $4 USD for this one?
Sure!
Great! The Bionic Woman made in 1976 by Universal City Studios.
We were leaving but he stopped us to give us this "Sport Billy" to give a gift to the "Hunters".
The seller is also a "Hunter" but he didn´t want to appear on camera... But he is very kind!
Super cool!
Thank you very much! Have a great day.
I´m impressed! He also gave me the Buddha... I´m very grateful to the people that give me gifts.
I swear I don't ask for the things thinking they are going to give them to me... But sometimes they do!
People say that when you want a Buddha is better if someone gives it to you as a present to have good luck.
It´s amazing!
#TodosSomosHunters!
Guys! We are now in the middle of the flea market... It´s huge and the sun is burning.
But my motivation is the food, the "Tepache" and the toy hunt!
Do you want to continue? Let´s go!
We found the G.I. Joe´s paradise!
This is an excellent stall! The seller says that he made this collection in 10 years.
What´s your name?
Brian!
How much is this figure?
$5 USD...
And how much for Honda from Street Fighter?
It´s the same price!
Great! 5 USD...
This one is $10 USD...
This one is also $10 USD and it´s complete!
These cars are 14 pieces for $50 USD!
They are in very good conditions!
This was "Apatlaco" flea market! I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did...
I´m happy with the stuff I bought and the "Hunters" I met.
It is a highly recommended place to come with the family, with your partner or even alone... It´s worthy!
Thanks for watching the Madhunter Channel!
