Liverpool are eyeing Olympique Lyon standout and French youth international Tanguy Ndombele,
per Le Progres.
The Reds are said to be in the hunt for Ndombele alongside Premier League rivals Manchester
City, Arsenal, and Tottenham.
Juventus and Roma have also been linked with the 21-year-old.
Ndombele, who is technically on loan to Lyon from French outfit Amiens, made 50 appearances
last season, scoring one goal and dishing out eight assists.
He quickly became one of the most coveted young midfielders in world football.
Lyon have an option to outright buy Ndombele from Amiens for€8 million, a bargain in
the current transfer market.
It's likely that they will invoke this option and, subsequently, sell him for a much larger
fee to a Premier League club.
Ndombele would continue to bolster the Reds' midfield ranks.
He is widely considered to be one of Europe's elite youngsters and signing him would represent
another Naby Keïta-esque coup for Jürgen Klopp, Michael Edwards, and company.
Ndombele typically played on the right side of a midfield two or three during his lone
season at Olympique Lyon, but is a versatile player that can function in a deeper, wider
or more advanced role.
The Longjumeau-born midfielder would be in direct competition with the likes of Jordan
Henderson and Gini Wijnaldum for the "number 6" role in Klopp's midfield,
but he could also play further up the pitch or Klopp could even deploy dual deep midfielders
depending on the occasion.
He has great physical tools, but is also skilled at keeping hold of the ball and playing between
the lines to create opportunities for his teammates.
In other transfer news, Liverpool are interested in signing attacker Moses Simon from Belgian
Pro League club KAA Gent.
