Naby Keita knows all about Liverpool - having watched them especially closely last season.

The Reds agreed a deal with RB Leipzig last year to bring Keita to Anfield this summer.

And the £52.75m Guinea international will formally become a Liverpool player on Sunday

July 1.

Ahead of his official arrival, Keita has travelled to Merseyside and spoken out on his move.

While being a fan of the football Liverpool play, the 23-year-old also outlined how conversations

with Sadio Mane and Jurgen Klopp helped make his decision.

Keita will be the Reds' new No.8, becoming the first to wear it since Steven Gerrard's

departure in 2015.

And he is relishing the prospect of featuring for the Champions League runners up next season.

"When you see how they performed last season it makes me want to do the same and to be

a part of this team," Keita told Liverpool's official website.

"I would like to be able to achieve a similar kind of season with them next season – but

even better.

"I chose Liverpool because it is a team I watched often.

"And I also spoke a lot about it with Sadio Mane.

He told me a lot about the team and the club.

"I also spoke with the coach, who told me about the project for the team and that motivated

me to be here."

Come Sunday, Keita will join Brazil international Fabinho as Liverpool's two summer recruits

so far.

Breaking News - Wimbledon ramp up security with staff trained in 'behaviour detection' - Duration: 2:14.

Wimbledon have taken special security measures to make sure this year's Championships are the most secure in history

Staff have been trained in 'behaviour detection' — the ability to spot suspicious activity which may otherwise go unnoticed in crowds

One security source said it can include noticing if an individual is holding a bag a certain way or if he or she is showing signs of nerves

Armed police officers will patrol the All England Club grounds, as they did last year, and extensive searches will take place at all gates

'The safety and security of all visitors to The Championships is of paramount importance, and there will be enhanced, layered security measures in place in and around this year's Championships,' said a statement from Wimbledon

'The AELTC works very closely with the Metropolitan Police and other relevant organisations to review and implement arrangements year-on-year and ensure that security measures at The Championships are commensurate with the existing threat level in the UK

'Working from a strong base of existing measures in place from previous years, the robust measures in place for this year's Championships include extensive searches of people, bags and vehicles on entry to the Grounds, the placement of enhanced vehicle mitigation, wide CCTV coverage, armed and uniformed police officers and sniffer dogs

Breaking News - Gareth Southgate plans to rest Raheem Sterling for Belgium clash - Duration: 4:06.

Gareth Southgate has urged England's fringe stars to grasp their World Cup opportunity as he plans to pull Raheem Sterling out of the firing line against Belgium on Thursday

With qualification for the knockout stages already secured, Southgate plans to make a number of changes to the side who thumped Panama 6-1 on Sunday

Sterling is set to be one of the high-profile exclusions as England look to finish top of Group G with victory over Roberto Martinez's side — though, barring a dramatic change of heart from Southgate, Sterling will start England's last-16 clash next week

Jamie Vardy and Marcus Rashford are jostling for the nod from Southgate to step in this evening

And the England manager has called on the players to seize their chance. 'Every player, the 12 who aren't playing, it's only natural they want to play,' he said

'We're competitive and want to play in every game. That's not possible in football

'We've all been around long enough to know that's the case, and we have to respect that and keep pushing

That's what the players have been doing. 'The mentality of those who haven't been in the starting XI has been to keep working as hard as possible, keep training and force an opportunity to play

'I think the intensity of the game will be good. The players who come in when you make changes have a high level of motivation

They have a brilliant opportunity to play in a World Cup and they want to show what they can do

' Danny Rose is in line for his first start of the tournament, with the Spurs defender set to replace Ashley Young at left wing back

Eric Dier will also make his first start of the finals against the Belgians. Gary Cahill and Phil Jones will be hoping for their first action, while captain Harry Kane is expected to play as he looks to extend his lead at the top of the World Cup goalscoring charts

Fabian Delph is also hoping to feature before he returns home for his baby's birth

Much has been made about the merits of finishing second as it appears to provide an easier route to the final, but Southgate disagrees

'We need to keep winning,' he said. 'We want to breed a mentality that everyone in our squad wants to constantly win

We are building a team who everyone back home can see are passionate to play for England, want to win every time they go out, and are improving every time
