Shawn Mendes is opening up about his drinking habits
and thoughts on Kanye West's political outlook
in a new interview with 'Rolling Stone.'
An outspoken fan of Kanye's artistic work, Shawn admits to
'Rolling Stone' that doesn't necessarily mean he sees eye to eye with
Ye when it comes to his recent remarks regarding politics and slavery.
"Obviously, there's a lot of things I disagree with
what he's saying, but I don't know enough about any situation
politically right now to kind of have a proper opinion.
But as an artist, I'm not turned off of Kanye West.
I think he is a great artist and he always will be to me
and his views and opinions politically and emotionally
are his to have. It's not to do with me."
Shawn continued, saying that some of Kanye's recent rhetoric is
very messed up, but he still considers the rapper to be a great artist.
Alright, now, let's talk about the drinking! At just 19 years old,
of course Shawn cannot legally drink here in the United States,
but what bums him out even more than not being able
to partake in those adult hydration activities, is missing out on
opportunities to hang with friends."I'm being denied a social experience,
I wish I was allowed to just go in the bar and drink a pop
because then I would at least be there with everyone, and I
wouldn't have to be in my hotel while everyone else is at the bar."
You know, I say Uncle Sam, stop denying Shawn Mendes his
social experiences and let him drink the damn pop
inside the bar! #PopInsideBars4Shawn.
Shawn goes on to explain that he can drink in his homeland of Canada
and when he does decide to indulge, he enjoys Rye and Ginger
and recently has been taking a liking to Tequila.
Well, hopefully Shawn is in Canada next week so he can
pop some bottles in celebration of his forecasted third No. 1 album
on the Billboard 200 chart, thanks to his
self-titled third studio album's 'Strong Open.'
