Liverpool news: Man Utd star sends message to Loris Karius after Champions League errors

The Reds star suffered a humiliating evening in the Champions League final defeat to Real Madrid on Saturday.

Karius made two errors to allow Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale to score in Liverpool's 3-1 loss.

And the 24-year-old left the field in tears after making the crucial mistakes in Kiev.

He later took to Instagram to issue an apology and thank Liverpool fans who supported him.

He wrote on the social media site: "Haven't really slept until now.

the scenes are still running through my head again and again.

Im infinitely sorry to my teammates, for you fans, and for all the staff.

"Stay strong Loris, you are a good goalkeeper" Man Utd star Eric Bailly "I know that I messed it up with the two mistakes and let you all down.

"As I said Id just like to turn back the time but thats not possible.

"Its even worse as we all felt that we could have beaten Real Madrid and we were in the game for a long time.

"Thank you to our unbelievable fans who came to Kiev and held my back, even after the game.

"I dont take that for granted and once again it showed me what a big family we are.

Thank you and we will come back stronger." Manchester United defender Bailly commented: "Stay strong Loris, you are a good goalkeeper.".

Real Madrid made history by winning the Champions League for a third successive season.

They took the lead through Benzema before Sadio Mane equalised for Liverpool.

But a Gareth Bale double after he came off the bench ensured the Champions League trophy would head back to the Bernabeu once again.

Liverpool news: Barcelona theory on Salah injury, Real star's Karius message, Alisson plan

Barcelona star believe Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos intentionally injured Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah in the Champions League final.

Los Blancos went on to secure a 3-1 win and claim the trophy for an historic third season in a row.

Real's achievement has put a damper on Barcelona's own campaign.

The Nou Camp club won a league and cup double but crashed out of the Champions League in the last eight.

According to Diario Gol, the Barcelona players have been discussing Ramos' challenge on Salah.

"Messing up is allowed, getting back up is whats needed.

Good luck, pal! " Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos Former Liverpool ace Philippe Coutinho is reportedly aware of the situation and that a number of team-mates believe Ramos did a job on Salah.

Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has sent Loris Karius a classy message after the Liverpool goalkeeper's Champions League nightmare.

The Reds star made two crucial errors to hand Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale easy goals in Kiev.

Karius apologised to fans on social media for his blunders but Ceballos - left out of Zinedine Zidane's 18-man squad - has urged him to show what he is made of by bouncing back.

Writing on Twitter, Ceballos explained: "Messing up is allowed, getting back up is whats needed.

Good luck, pal! Football always grants second chances.

Lets go!" Liverpool are set to make another approach for Roma goalkeeper Alisson in the wake of Karius' nightmare.

But they face a battle with Real Madrid, who reportedly want Alisson if they can't prise David De Gea away from Manchester United and have already had an initial bid for him turned down.

Kop boss Jurgen Klopp has previously baulked at the £70m-plus asking price.

But it is understood that Alisson remains the only real goalkeeping target for Klopp this summer.

Roma are likely to play hardball after they admitted they made a huge mistake in selling Mohamed Salah to the Reds for just £36.9m last summer.

Man Utd transfer news: Ex-Real Madrid president opens up on Gareth Bale saga

That's the opinion of former Los Blancos president Roman Calderon.

Bale made comments after the Champions League final win against Liverpool admitting he would consider his future this summer.

That was after the Welshman scored a stunning overhead kick and then added a second effort after coming off the bench in the 3-1 win.

But Calderon believes it is unrealistic for Bale to think he would be guaranteed more football if he left Real Madrid.

"It's understandable he's not happy - he hasn't been playing regularly in the last matches," Calderon explained on talkSPORT.

"Who is going to guarantee him to play? That is impossible" Ex-Real Madrid president Roman Calderon "And now the ball is in his court.

I don't know what he's thinking, but I'm sure he'll be talking to the coach and the President.

"But no one can assure a player that he is going to play all the matches.

That is a problem for a player like him.

"He's an amazing player and he has proven that many times.

"He was the best player in England in the Premier League (when he was at Tottenham).

"The goal he scored (in the final) is difficult to do for a player not as talented or gifted as he is.

"But, who is going to guarantee him to play? That is impossible.

"Of course, if the injuries come back again, you have to be fit to play in a big club, and players if they are more fit than you are will be playing." Despite struggling with injuries at the start of the season, Bale netted 21 times in all competitions for Real Madrid.

That helped Zinedine Zidane's side to a third straight Champions League victory.
