LIVERPOOL secured their place in the Champions League final despite losing to Roma in the

Stadio Olimpico, but which Reds players impressed most?

Liverpool booked a meeting with Real Madrid in the Champions League final despite losing

to Roma at the Stadio Olimpico.

Jurgen Klopp's side slipped to a 4-2 defeat against their Serie A opponents, but goals

from Sadio Mane and Georginio Wijnaldum ensured the Reds progressed through 7-6 on aggregate.

Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah had a quiet evening against his former club but team-mate

Mane stepped into the void, providing a constant threat all night.

At the other end of the pitch, Loris Karius endured a stressful evening under intense

pressure but just about kept his composure with a couple of big stops and some solid

handling.

Georginio Wijnaldum ended a streak from May 2015 to score for Liverpool and put them firmly

in control against Roma tonight.

Sadio Mane had given Liverpool an all important away goal with a clinical finish after just

nine minutes.

But the Reds were pegged back six minutes later in freak circumstances as Dejan Lovren's

attempted clearance in the penalty area hit James Milner's head and flew into the net.

However, Liverpool went back in front on the night when Roma failed to clear a corner and

Wijnaldum nodded past the onrushing Alisson.

Former Liverpool defender Mark Lawrenson said on BBC Radio 5 live: "We have just had a

game and a quarter and we've had 10 goals.

"It's mad.

"Time sort of stood still with that goal because everyone watched the ball.

"Liverpool can bore us to death for the rest of the first half now."

It was Wijnaldum's eighth goal for Liverpool but, amazingly, his first scored away from

Anfield.

This morning, the White Mountain Apache Tribe conducted a historic inauguration of Gwendena

Lee-Gatewood, the tribe's first female leader and chairwoman.

The inauguration also brings to an end the longtime service of tribal Chairman Ronnie

Lupe, who has served the White Mountain Apache Tribe's leader for more than five decades.

During her campaign, Lee-Gatewood promised the tribe that she would lead them full force

into the 21st century and improve the overall quality of life.

She plans to build upon the foundation that Lupe set before her.

Dignitaries and guests from all over Arizona and the surrounding region are expected to

attend Wednesday's historic inauguration.

Also being sworn into office will be new Vice Chairman Jerome Kasey III, and tribal council

members Travis Tessay (District I), Renaldo Dazen (District II), Alvin Declay Sr. (District

III), Alevna Bush (District IV) and Gary Alchesay (District IV).

On Tuesday, May 1st, Forest Service investigators reported that the cause of the 11,000 plus

acre Tinder Fire near Payson was caused by an abandoned illegal campfire during Stage

I Fire Restrictions.

"Any time we enter restrictions or have even closed the forest, we still continue

to find abandoned and illegal campfires," said Andy Pederson, Forest Service patrol

captain for northern Arizona.

"This shows extreme lack of care for public safety and our natural resources when people

would have an illegal campfire, much less abandon an illegal campfire."

Multiple agencies are continuing to investigate this case.

On a positive note, last night's rain and snow may have brought some much needed relief

to crews fighting the fire.

Reports indicate that Fire Crews have made substantial progress in suppression and control

of the fire and expect another highly productive day today as they are aided by the current

weather conditions.

The public information line for the fire is 928-792-1666.
