Supplementary materials are classified according to their typology.

These activities will help you to review contents already studied,

to deepen your knowledge on some linguistic aspect,

to improve your pronunciation, etc.

These activities are numbered too,

so that you can do the one that most interest you at the moment.

Levels A1 to B1 contain 3 tests per unit,

whereas levels B2 and C1

only contain one final test at the end of each unit.

Click on the test you wish to take.

On the test main page, you can see the evaluable contents divided into 3 categories:

functions, grammar and vocabulary.

It is recommended to read them carefully and to review any of them if needed.

Once you're ready, click on "Comenzar el test"(start test).

Navigating through the test is similar to navigating through the activities.

However, the "solución" (solution) and "ayuda" (help) iconsare not enabled in the test pages.

It is also important to notice that once you've clicked on the arrow to continue,

you won't be able to go back to the previous page.

Please, review your answers

After you finish the test, you will see your results

and an assessment of your performance.

You can review your answers by clicking on "Ver corrección" (see correction)

Right answers are shown in green,

while mistakes are shown in orange

It is also possible to go to session 10 from the content page of the unit.

This session is specially designed to work collaboratively with other students.

It usually involves a real life task

where significant contents studied in the unit are put into practice.

The objectives of session 10 are formulated on the main page.

On this page, you can also see the parts in which the session is divided,

together with the activity number to practice each part.

On session 10, we encourage you to use the online communication tools of the platform,

Tips & Tricks of Winter camps - Duration: 7:55.

Once again, a new video "tips and tricks"

special cold season, just before winter

keep warm during watching this video

so, then, you can go sleeping outside

And for the winter ambiance in Britttany :

Wear warm and dry socks, special night

for having less cold to your toes

let them exceed from few cm

to trap warm air

unfold your sleeping bag 30 min before going to bed

It will recover it's fluffyness and insulation

have a warm bottle for the night

to keep the warmth around you

take a metallic bottle inside a wool sock

near your femoral artery,

warmth will diffuse even quicker into your body

a silk sheet will gain many degrees

and is easier to wash/clean

because dirt sticks to your sleeping bag and become less efficient

a pijama dry and clean, special night

will give several confortable degrees

as well as gloves

a hat, or a scarf

you can wear whatever you want as long as you are not compressed in your sleeping bag

otherwise insulation won't work and you'll get cold

never breathe IN in the sleeping bag

condensation would wet yourself

always let a small ouverture

or breath through a sleeve or tissue if it's too cold

sleep straight

to avoid any bend in your sleeping bag and makes weaken point

so insulation is not compressed

if the ground is too cold, you can sleep on the edge

reducing the contact with the ground

if the position is too inconfortable

sleep on your arms to insulate and trap more air between and your body

if your mattress is too fin, empty your bag

and place it under the most important part to protect: your bust

before going to bed, do push-ups

to create an excess of warmth which heat your sleeping bag

but ... not until your sweat ...

during the night, if you still feel the cold

do few abs and stay in your sleeping bag

if you feel the cold at the beginning of the night

it will get worse

because temperatures constantly decrease

until 1 hour before the sunset

shake and dry your sleeping bag in the morning

moisture won't stay for the next night

put your other clothe between the mattress and you

so they don"t freeze during the night

and it gives more insulation

sleep with your batteries and electronic devices

so they don't run out of battery because of the cold

Winter dries faster than hot summer

but you don't feel it

for this reason, drink !

Drink and eat, but warm !

otherwise your food will make you loose heat

whereas it could bring you some from the inside

pee as soon as you feel it

it's useless to warm a liquid

inside your body

keep some water in your bottle

during the night to keep hydrated

and close to you so it doesn't freeze

And for men,

you can make a hot water bottle with your liquid :)

but don't forget the next morning

avoid sweating

you'll get cold by being wet

so keep your warm clothe inside your bag

during your activities

and take them -dry- for the break or the night

avoid cotton clothe

prefer merinos wool

which keep warm and dry fast

wool as second layer is excellent

Choose a third layer clothe which

has a wast drawstring

to avoid the "bellow effect" :

air coming from the bottom

cool your body

and evacuate your own heat for the collar

for this reason, a scarf or a balaclava

limits heat lost by this phenomena

As well as a hood, is not only useful for rain

but also avoid that heat dissipates from our head

Use a car sunvisor

to reflect heat toward you

or cut a piece to put in your shoes

and never get cold from your feet

choose carefully your camp location

cold winds go down slopes during the night

don"t sleep on valley's bottom

but slightly higher

snow is composed of 90% of air

it's a perfect insulation

use it to build protection against winds and cold

always put your headtorch at the same place in your bag

so if you get surprised by the dark

you grab it easy

Install your camp at a minimum of

1h30 before the night

then you can enjoy the sunset and light the fire

so cut your wood before the dark

instead of in the middle of the night

when you finished to cut some wood, cut twice more !

it's not during the cold night that you'll enjoy sawing

because you under-estimated the cold

Btw, putting 2 log under your firewood

avoid to get it wet

and avoid cutting wood 10 m around your camp

because if you still need some wood during the night

it's easier to cut some close to your camp

when it's too cold it's hard to differentiate wet /dry wood

split the log and touch with your lips

if the wood feels warm, it's dry

if the wood feels cold, it's wet

make a half-log plateform to start a fire

otherwise snow will melt and light off your fire

keep few small branches/tinder next to you

to make some flammes fast

and find something in the dark

if you are STILL cold, cut some wood

cutting, carrying will warm you

as well as burning it afterward

Pour some water in your pot

it will melt snow faster

shake snow on you before going next to the fire

otherwise, it would wet you while melting

Spruce branches are excellent insulation for sitting or even sleeping

cut some to make thick mattress

and get insulated from the ground

keep your bottles under snow powder

thanks to snow insulation,

water won't freeze for day

don't put any tool on the ground

if it's snowing, you won't find it again

and i'm speaking by experience ...

If you are used to use leaves after pooping ...

well ... it doesn't work during winter ...

snow is efficient, findable everywhere

and let few trace

if you have a big water container

switch upside down for the night

if it's freezing, ice will form on the upper part

and won't block the cap

few salt grains decrease water solidification temperature

and add complementary mineral salts

if it comes from melting snow

Take shoes a little bit bigger

to trap air without being compressed

and wear thick wool socks

lithium batteries are better than alcaline ones

they work at low temperature, light, have a better battery-life, and can be long-stored

alcohol gives a warm sensation

but your whole body numbs and cools

so drink back at home

lighter have to be warmed by heat body

before being able to use them

survival kit always on you in case of issues

as well as the fire kit

with waterproof tinders

snacks and sweet are welcome in cold weather

digestion produces heat

and sugar boost your organism

use a pencil for writing and drawing

because ink freezes ...

hey, even if I like it,

I'm not a expert in extreme cold environment

so if you too have some tips to share

write a comment

so everyone can profit !

I'm thankful to many people for this "tips and tricks" compilation

Particularly to a swedish facebook group

and Florian Leloup from the Nemophilist blog

He wrote an amazing article on the cold which completes my video

the link is just below

And to a friend who is now living in Lapland, in winter, outside

He has a lot experience in cold environment

and now he organizes bushcraft camps

so if you are interested for learning,

his contact is just below

it's Refuel Tobias

Bye bye
