Waching daily Dec 27 2017

We've arrived in Zandvoort By The Sea

It's very quiet here

so I have the urge to whisper.

We're going to a hotel

in a town [famous Dutch song]

where no one hears us

where no one knows us

and no one disturbs us

There's a vernissage

a reception at a gallery for an artist whose show is about to open to the public

In the hotel in a city

you can also look at my work

Do you have high expectations of my work?

Well, yes, I might think so

Then you will hereby be disappointed.

My lovely assistant

Are we going to be late?

Quick!

No idea where we have to go

Let's have a look

Are we pretty?

Welcome to your party!

Can we do anything?

Well, have a drink and something to eat

Hi, I'm Paul

From februari

she's going to be my intern.

But he's applied for a job with you as well

I'm sorry, your application went to the bottom of the pile

Oh you knew him already

Hey, hi Sanne, I'm Marco Termes

Have you got enough memory for that?

If not, you can use my external memory.

Have you got a cable? Then we can plug it into your ear.

I'm just like Frankenstein.

Sanne van Renesse has made an amazing photo series

that hangs in the halls.

Jan Berghuis has asked me to speak some friendly words

In that I won't succeed.

There are three things I really hate:

Those are dictators,

liers,

and long speeches.

I'm going to recite two poems for you.

I remember incredibly much.

Me too.

She probably reaches back to him thankfully

Before he,

with clods of black earth still attached to the roots,

will take her away.

Why do poets drink so much?

Otherwise, you won't be able to carry on.

She blooms even shorter than a flower.

Still, she moves heaven and earth.

My life is like the adventures of Tintin.

I experience a lot.

Me too.

I'm working on a big series

I hope, I hope you're going to place it!

Open job-interview!

Hysterical furniture are part of it.

So, there's another art show coming up!

Shoot!

We're do we have to go?

It's so quiet and dark.

Oh here, look guys!

Can you see this? Beautiful isn't it?

I'm closing the door!

I'm worn out.

Me too.

It's a helicopter!

Looks more like an insect, to be honest.

How does this make you feel?

What does your tummy say?

Does it give you little tickles?

Are those bell peppers?

Yes

Naughty.

Why did you touch it?

Do you know what the story behind these photos is?

Well?

I got an assignment

from this hotel

to take pictures

of the area around here

and I got the suggestion to go to the Water Pipe Dunes.

For hours, the entire day, I wandered around alone with my camera.

I sent them and they said:

no, we didn't mean this area!

Well, then I came another time

and that time I've wandered around the normal dunes

the entire day.

That was the story.

Good story.

Nice and short.

I didn't actually fast forward, that's just how I really talk.

I've created such amazing titles [sarcasm]

I can't even remember thinking of these

but, this title is very amazing.

You see, it's called:

Get it?

because so to speak a dune is created by wind

because the sand blows on top of it like this

and but there are also footsteps and other things

and that are men

and back there so to speak are boat masts

and those are by men too

but on the other side are waves

and that, in it's turn, is created by the wind.

This is a beautiful painting, look

Then it has to stay like this..

It's painted in negative.

Is he from The Hague or La Haye (two names for the same city)?

I think from The Hague.

La Haye is fancy.

He's a real The Haguer - I had it right then.

In art school I had a teacher from The Hague.

He could really dish it out.

Swearing during class (people from The Hague can swear beautifully) - On purpose, or..?

I'm not from The Hague (with The Hague accent)

No, you're not from The Hague (with fake The Hague accent)?

It's striking.

That we search out people to talk to that live in Friesland (next to where I live, we are both known to be very down-to-earth people)

[Something mimicking heavy local accent]

I think Friesland is the friendliest provence

Kind-hearted.

They say exactly what they are thinking.

They tell it like it is.

And a lot of people from the West of NL (Amsterdam)

Can't deal with that.

To give an example

I was at a bakery

for a bbq I had to order a parcel

and when you're in The Hague you get a receipt

to proof you've payed

But no, that wasn't necessary there

You just payed and everything would work out

But how?

I'm not used to that.

I sell veggies I have left from the garden

I sell them by the corner of the street.

We've already sold a lot.

Not one penny short.

If you're a penny short,

then next time you would find a buck extra.

Do you have little canals there?

Back in the day there lived many ship-captains

that were half pirates.

They smuggled people.

They were chased.

But because of the maze of canals and bridges

they could never catch them, they always escaped.

This is the original

and this is the negative.

But he also has paintings like it's an out of focus picture

and I love that as well.

Shall we do a present?

A present?

Do you want a present?

Sure I do!

What do you think of today?

It's dry, and we have drinks

That's the most important! - and art.

We won't do 'surrogate'.

Booze, drugs, porn, nothing's adequate

compared to you everything is surrogate.

Heart-ache.

I live on borrowed time.

In reality I've died long ago.

For you I'll make the thinnest poems.

For you I'll undress art to the bone

Fragile, naked, to almost nothing

Emptier I want to come to your love

Of you I love to be silent my love

So indescribable in the very deepest.

Very Beautiful.

Very emotional.

You really feel that.

And on top of that, it's recited by the author himself!

There you go. - Thank you.

How do you spell your name?

I always ask, because a lot of the time it's like

Yes, my name is John

With an X.

There you go, love.

Thank you truly so much.

Really sweet.

Are beautiful, deep, emotional poems things you don't want to miss

then buy this.

That rhymes!

It rhymes!

Live.

And I have to 'Blossom'

She's getting nicely pink cheeks

What do you want to drink?

A glass of water.

I have to drive, so..

- a double whiskey.

Girls of the carefulness

I'll say, bottoms up!

Cheers, to uncarefulness!
