Liverpool news: Roberto Firmino is a deadly striker - Huddersfield star Danny Williams

The United States midfielder is playing down the significance of Wagner's head-to-head with long-standing friend Jurgen Klopp, while relishing his own reunion.

Williams has been pals with Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino since they were team-mates in the German league at Hoffenheim. "I could see already what a great player he would be," said Williams.

"Everything about his game was good. His first touch is different class, he is quick and has a very good technique. "He is dangerous, especially as he has developed in front of goal since I was with him at 19 and 20.

It is clear he has worked hard." Firmino has come a long way since leaving Figueirense, in his native Brazil, to seek stardom with Hoffenheim as a 19-year-old.

"It is clear he has worked hard" Huddersfield star Danny WIlliams He is set to play at his first World Cup next summer, having helped his country finish top of the South American qualifying section.

But whatever he achieves over the next 12 months will not go to his head, according to Williams. "People say success can change a person but not him," said the Huddersfield midfielder. "He has just followed his dream.

"It will be fun to talk to him after a few years. The last time I played against him was with the national team when we played Brazil.

"He is a great guy who loves his football and his family so it will be nice to see each other again and exchange a few words." While Williams is looking forward to catching up with an old friend, he claims not to be that bothered about the publicity surrounding Klopp's contest with Wagner.

"The focus has been on the managers and we all know about their friendship," Williams said. "It is a big story and exciting for people to watch. "But we leave all that behind us.

In the build up to a game, it has to be about us and how we perform on the pitch." Williams was in the Reading side beaten penalties by the Terriers in last May's Championship play-off final, but then agreed a move to West Yorkshire on a free transfer.

"Liverpool have quality players but last weekend showed that hard work beats talent," said Williams. "It will not get any easier at Anfield so we have to work as hard as we did against Manchester United to compete.".

Barcelona news: Kalidou Koulibaly agent discusses potential Nou Camp transfer

Koulibaly has been linked with a big-money move away from Napoli in recent seasons, with Chelsea said to have had a number of bids rejected for the Senegal international.

And now La Liga leaders Barcelona have shown an interest in the 26-year-old centre-half. Reports have surface that Barca will look to land Koulibaly when the transfer window reopens in January.

But Koulibaly's agent Bruno Satin insists the defender currently focused on Napoli's upcoming Champions League clash with Manchester City. "The local newspaper that reported it [Barcelona transfer] uses the transfer market to increase sales," Satin told Italian broadcaster Radio Crc.

"Kalidou is 100 per cent focused on the league" Bruno Satin "At this time Kalidou is 100 per cent focused on the league and on the return match with [Manchester] City.

"I was at the stadium for the first leg and I saw Napoli play a high-level game where they came close to matching them." Satin went on to say how important Koulibaly is to Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri.

Maurizio Sarri absolutely adores him," he added. "Koulibaly has evolved with him and thanks to him and he has now become a certainty for Napoli..
