Hi, welcome!

In this video I will show you how to play the Subtraction Wheel to reinforce our subtraction skills.

Then I will explain how to download the documents for free.

Let's begin.

The objective of this game is to establish a connection with our subtraction skills from zero to ten in order to

extend this connection to bigger numbers and without having to use our fingers.

The rules are simple, but first let me show you the game in action.

First you take a card from the stack.

Then you have to find the number that will complete your subtraction sentence.

So if I got the number 2, in the center it says 10 minus,

using my number I can see that the subtraction sentence now says ten minus two.

I will then have to write the number two in the white box next to eight.

The reason for this is because ten minus two is equal to eight.

The first one to fill up the whole wheel or

when all the cards from the stack are used up

will signal the end of the round.

If you have two white boxes remaining then your score is two.

The one with the least amount of points at the end of the three rounds is the winner.

I suggest playing at least once a day in order to create critical connections that will later help us subtract bigger numbers.

You will find the documents within the links found in the description box.

One page is already pre-filled so all you need to do is print it out and start playing!

The second page has the cards for the stack.

The third page contains empty boxes so you could change the numbers around and continue challenging our students.

It is a good idea to continue using zero through ten but just in a different order.

The last page has blank stack cards in order to change those as well.

Now I will explain how to download these documents so you could print them whenever you want.

This is a document saved in Google Drive so you may access it through a phone or computer.

First go to the description box found below this video. Then click on the link.

There you will find the document with the game.

You will find various option on the upper left part of the screen under "file".

If you choose "download as" you will be asked to save the document to your computer.

This is recommended in case you don't have immediate access to a printer.

On the same upper left corner you will find a printer symbol.

Click on this to print out the document.

Simply indicate the pages or quantity you'd like to print.

Now, if you're on a cellphone, the option to print or save will be found on the upper right corner

(touch the three vertical points).

Click on "share&export" to view the options of "save as" or "print."

Now go to your nearest library to print out these documents!
