Trader Trump Tax Plan Likely To Send S&P To New Record Highs No Matter What He Says

by Tyler Durden

Having extensively previewed the various known and unknown aspects of Trump's tax plan yesterday,

set to be announced shortly, the reality - at least according to Bloomberg's Mark Cudmore

- is that no matter what Trump says today, it will almost certainly lead to more stock

buying, leading to yet another "Trump Bump."

Which is ironic for one main reason: "Trumps tax plan is expected to promise great things,

but itll mean little without approval from Congress.

So the consensus is that its unlikely to impact too much either way beyond some short-term

volatility."

Furthermore, and counterintuitively, it would be a "positive surprise if the plan isnt

overly ambitious and doesnt promise too much.

That would make fiscal stimulus suddenly seem more achievable and realistic."

However, Cudmore says that is an unlikely outcome: "One of the few inarguable facets

of Trump is he knows how to get attention and viewers.

Trumps tax proposal is likely to be dramatic with some bold statements."

There is one possibility Trump "disappoints" markets:

"A negative surprise would come from Trump straying off script and raising the prospect

of trade wars again.

Given his threats regarding Canadian dairy products and Wilbur Rosss comments about

further tariff actions on other products, this is a distinct possibility."

And yet, the base case is that "Trump will provide little fundamental change.

And the odds for a surprise skew negative.

Yet markets have a tendency to focus on the news that matches their mood and suits the

preferred narrative.

Hard facts arent always malleable, but a legislative wishlist -- through the miracle

of selective sampling -- can be bent to ones purpose more easily."

The bottom line: traders will goalseek Trump's statement to justify a move higher, as "the

prevailing sentiment suggests U.S. stocks will achieve record highs within days.

Itll just be a matter of how long it takes to work out which part of Trumps proposal

will justify that move after the fact."

Macro View: Eager U.S. Equity Investors Will Ensure a Trump Bump

Investors are looking for a reason to buy U.S. equities again, which means theyll

probably find one in Donald Trumps tax plan no matter what he says on Wednesday.

With multiple geopolitical risks successfully navigated during the past couple of months,

investors are long cash and seeing a market rally sharply, backed by strong earnings.

Psychologically, its difficult to admit to being underexposed to the global bullishness

and to have to enter fresh market longs within 1% of the record high.

Traders will cast around for something on which to pin their sudden change of heart,

even if its tenuous.

Counterintuitively, it will be a positive surprise if the plan isnt overly ambitious

and doesnt promise too much.

That would make fiscal stimulus suddenly seem more achievable and realistic.

I wouldnt recommend raising your hopes for that outcome.

SCIENTISTS HAVE SUCCESSFULLY GROWN LAMBS IN AN ARTIFICIAL WOMB - tech and science - Duration: 3:21.

SCIENTISTS HAVE SUCCESSFULLY GROWN LAMBS IN AN ARTIFICIAL WOMB

The dreams of sci-fi lovers have finally come true.

This shocking news seems more like a sci-fi movie scene rather than real-life, but scientists

have once again amazed the world with what they have accomplished.

Finally, scientists are so close to finding the permanent solution to helping premature

babies survive.

The leading cause of infant mortality in the U.S is the premature birth of babies.

Babies below 25 weeks have low survival rates, and scientists have been struggling to find

an answer for many years.

Has humanity finally achieved the feat of solving this on-going problem?

How did they achieve this?

Scientists and doctors finally achieved this almost impossible feat by successfully recreating

a human womb.

If that by itself is not already miraculous enough, researchers say human trials can begin

in 3-5 years, a very near future that we can envision.

How did the researchers do it?

They started by taking eight lambs between 105 days to 120 days gestation(equivalent

to a 23-24 weeks old human baby) and placed them in an artificial womb which was a sealed

and sterile bag.

It is filled with an electrolyte solution that acts as the amniotic fluid, and the lamb's

own heart pumps the blood for gas exchange through the "umbilical chord".

A DIAGRAM DEPICTING THE PROCESS OF THE ARTIFICIAL WOMB

The study was a success.

The lambs were healthy, and there were no side effects.

They had normal growth, matured lungs, and brain maturation.

However, concerns have been raised that lambs do not work fundamentally like how humans

do - their umbilical chords are different, and their constitutions may be stronger than

a human baby.

Moreover, at that age, lambs are significantly larger than human babies.

Nevertheless, hope is abundant, and researchers are optimistic about the results.

Although getting research up to the human trial stage is a monumental and huge leap,

many researchers are amazed by the results and think that this will carry through to

a permanent solution.

This is not the first time researchers have tried to look for a solution for the survival

of premature babies.

In 1996, New York Times Magazine ran a story about a Tokyo lab that researched on baby

goats in heated, suspended amniotic fluid.

However, that ended up failing as the result was technical issues and circulatory failures.

Since then, no big advancement has been made in this field, and this news is exciting for

the world.

Now we can only hope that in the near future, human trials will begin and succeed, making

sure that infant mortality rates decrease to an almost non-existent rate.
