hardly rippled waters, but Outremer 4X moves effortlessly

and her wake tells a lot about her speed

with her large downwind sail, she is faster than the wind

in a Cannes bay where the sailboats hardly moves

Let's admit it, we had fun having many jibes

around the anchored boats as marks for our playground

With a certain Loïck Peyron as helmsman, it's easier, will you tell

The Outremer 4X is indeed a lighter version of the Outremer 45'

With the 4X, we try to go one step forward in performance

What does that mean ?

We lighten the boat

Carbon bulkheads, carbon mast

central bimini with fabric on the sides to save weight...

We check the whole boat to save weight

We have been working also on the sailplan, quality of the sails

more technical sails

All of this to improve the pleasure and trimming ability

to get a better sensitivity

We have a genoa instead of the self tacking solent jib

we lenghtened the rudders, with a more efficient shape

A bit longer, so you have slightly more draft, compare to cruising

But more performing and pleasant on tillers

The tillers ! It might be a gadget on a long distance cruising boats

But it's so nice to settle in these ergonomic chairs, and feel this large boat obey like a sport cat !

For manoeuvring, one's obviously better standing at the helm, since the helmsman can trim his sails

without leaving his position

from there, he also has the best view over both bows and transoms

It's nice under sail, but it's compulsory while docking under power

We already mentioned the Outremer is good in light conditions

she's even easier in medium, when no other boat will take the risk to compete.

These performances still allow some comfort

Have a look of the saloon, with smartly positioned galley

between saloon and cockpit

All round visibility is perfect

and volume is available

It's well deserved the title of European Multihull of the Year, isn't it ?
