I am Zohor Al Musry.

I am 28 years old.

I am from Syria but my nationality is Palestinian.

I have two kids, Omar and Rafif.

Run. Run.

I live in The Netherlands.

In Hoorn.

With my children and husband.

My man's name is Mohammed.

I am only 11 months in the Netherlands.

Karate gives me strengths and self confidence.

I started this sport when I was a small kid.

I learned it from my father and I started to love it.

I grew up with Karate and it became a part of me.

High.

High that leg.

Spread and down.

I came to the Netherlands. I said I wanted to start a karate kid gym in this community center.

Everybody was really enthusiastic

Somebody said to me: we want you to teach karate ..

but we don't want our children to become violent.

I told them that it would not be like that.

The karate will take the violence out of the children.

My lessons are for the children of the refugees, and for the children that are born here.

If they are Turkish or Dutch,

Everybody is welcome here.

I am trying to speak Dutch during the lessons.

That feels like the start of my integration in the Dutch society.

I think karate will hold me here in this country.

It will make me love this country more.

If I feel bad for being far away from my country.

Karate helps me to feel better.

The kids will learn how they can protect themselves..

and how they can rely on their strong personalities.

If children have any doubts about themselves, with karate they will lose those doubts.

Karate teaches you how to fight for the things you want in a positive way.
