We're at a potato field to take a crop sample.

We're going to check whether the crop is growing to plan, or needs a little help.

My granddad had two or three fields of potatoes.

He'd walk around those twice a week to check the growth...

and look for changes, which he would notice, checking so often.

For me it's different. I have more fields, so I use this system, with sensors.

They tell me which fields I need to check because they sense something's off.

That information comes from crop sensors, ground moisture sensors...

connected with the LoRa network.

They send us a lot of information about soil conditions.

That helps us decide what fields to sample.

I'm going there to harvest three plants.

I'm taking those three plants to the car to analyse them on the tailgate.

I use the sensors mainly to monitor soil conditions.

I need moisture in the soil to produce.

No moisture means no produce.

In the past we'd go to the field to check and take some soil in our hands.

If I could make a ball, there was enough moisture. If I couldn't, there wasn't.

What we did by hand then, we now do with sensor data.

The sensors tell me clearly when and how much I need to irrigate.

Five or ten years on, when a computer will tell me:

Go to that field, that spot, to do a crop analysis or take a soil sample...

or check soil moisture conditions...

That data is useful only if we interpret it.

That way we can make sure we need less input...

to produce a lot more better quality produce.

Hello, this chair which fabric was very worn out instead of throwing it away

I'm going to try to fix it.

I have painted the chair and now I'm going to cover it with these ropes using these two crochet hooks

which are the largest I had at home, if you have them longer, better,

but those are the ones I'm going to use.

First, I'm going to tie a knot here, in the left part, another knot, a normal knot,

to secure it, I take it down, now I go below, tensing well, after

I make a loop, the rope that is always loose goes inward I make the loop,

I take it from behind and pick it up with the crochet hook, I tense, I go down again, I make the

loop, the rope that is loose goes inward, I make the loop, I put it below, towards here,

forward, I take another crochet hook and I leave it still, I'm going down again, I make another loop,

but now I'm going to put it through, I pick my crochet hook over the rope, I pick up the loop, I pull it

and put it through the first one, I tighten the rope, I go below, I make the loop, always

the rope that is loose goes always inside, I put now the loop below, I take it with the crochet,

I pull it and pick it up, again, underneath, I make another loop, I put it through, I pick it up

With the crochet hook, I pull it and keep the crochet still and so on until

we finish this part, I will show you how to finish it

I'm going to weave the last row where I'm going to leave the hooks free.

For that, I leave enough rope to go up and back to this hook over here

it is where I'm going to end, I put it underneath, I go up, I make the loop, I'm going to go to this

side, ... below first, I make the loop, I put it below

and now I pull up the rope and I leave the hook free, I tighten well, this part already

would be finished, now I go down and I'll release the other hook, ah,

this ... it has to come over, I make here the loop, I put it underneath and now

Now I have to pass the rope like this, starting here, I go there like that

with the crochet hooks on one side and on the other side and I end up here.

The back part I start here, I'm going to start at the bottom, sorry, and I'm going to go up because if

it's going to take a lot of work to do this part, that's why we're going to start at the bottom

and let's go up.

After weaving the vertical ropes, I've been weaving the horizontal ones with white.

I have made my own chart, here below.

I counted the strings first, they were 26 [blue] that's why they are 26 squares.

The drawing is symmetrical and the red is when the white rope goes over and the white squares

when the rope goes below.

If you do it diagonally, the drawing will look very good

As it is my first chart, then in the part I have made in white, there are many

white spaces, you should not leave so many spaces because then the strings look too

long

Whenever there is a space above, you must leave another space below [different colour], you can not

have a rope that always stays above but do not leave so many spaces like that

so long because then you see these ropes are too long but as it is my first

chart, well it seems pretty good to me.
