Four years after we originally thought we were getting it, 'Tha Carter V' has arrived, is
23 tracks deep, and boasts some newsworthy features fans will surely be going crazy for.
Originally slated for 2014, The latest Carter got tangled up in Wayne's lawsuit with
Cash Money Records over the years which was finally settled in June 2018 for
an undisclosed sum between Weezy, Cash Money and Universal Music Group.
The best news coming out of the settlement was that Wayne is now the sole proprietor of
his imprint Young Money Entertainment and Tha Carter V is now here for us to enjoy!
23 songs long, the album is a star studded affair, with XXXTentacion posthumously
appearing on track 2 "Don't Cry."
Wayne managed to get both Travis Scott and Nicki Minaj on the album, which plenty
of fans had something to say about following those artists' back-and-forth last month
regarding the Billboard 200 chart.
And a collab that is already being deemed an instant classic by some, Weezy links
up with Kendrick Lamar on "Mona Lisa."
There are plenty of other artists popping up throughout as well, but let's check out
how Twitter is responding to the release less than 12 hours later.
Weezy took dragon form in @Kevin_Schex's eyes…
Slywalker posted this, "When Lil Wayne lighter flicked and then X came in saying
"Don't Cry." Nick adding on…"Me when I hear Lil Wayne's first light flick on #CarterV"
and Lil Taco expressing their frustration that the album arrived without a single
Drake feature.
